BTW Angus lives in Holland, as you might know. Friend of a friend is his neighbour. Must be cool/fun to have Angus Young as your neighbour....

when I say catholic, jewess or WASP girl, i'm not talking about them practicing thier religion or being "religious" i mean it more in their backround upbringing ie. from a sociological point of view

in my experience jewish girls seem to be more deep and artistic, catholic girls more emotional, and WASP (protestant) girls more career driven ie. prove yourself show me you're a man by being a "winner"

here's the prime example of the typical deep, artistic and soulful Jewess :P

Ah ok, I get what you mean now. That's an interesting observation about the relation between religion backgrounds & personally, I wasn't really aware of this. The Dutch are pretty neutral folks, esp the current generation, the situation in Poland is prob way different.

Except for some small orthodox exceptions, Holland can be considered completely atheistic. Many people will state they are "religious", but it's just a luchtballon....

Let's call them the "there exists more between heaven and earth" generation with a Buddha statue in their garden.

haha, iets-isme, I like that term. As you know, the Dutch are very temperate and want everything under control; they can't deal with vague things like our existence on earth.

Holland is basically the "beacon of Protestantism" but not in the sense of the true religious sense of it, but more like within the "ideals" of it ie. the "ideals" of individualism, freedom, and the right to choose, if you get my drift?

The bold parts have run out of control. Too much freedom and -esp- individualism isn't good for a society.

I get it. The 19th and 20th century Calvinists reallt did not want any government involvement. There was a process of liberalisation againt the state, but also an internal movement into very strict orhodox religion, based on the reformation.
That finally led to an extremely orthodox protestant population (the European Bible belt) that's still influential, but also to the opposite liberal tendency starting in the 60s. It's what you see happening to people who grow up in this bible belt: they either join the Calvinism or drop out completely. There doesn't seem to be a middle.
