OMG!  As I predicted some time ago, the guy who went to Costa Rica for liposuction is talking about going back for more “work” but he is feeling conflicted.  Why more work?  Because (big surprise)  he got fat again... and it's not even one year later...  ::)

As I said before "Unfortunately for him, and people like him, lipo does not solve the problem because they are still caught up in the lifestyle habits (poor diet, sloth) that generated the fat to begin with."  :-[

him dishing a few dollars out of pocket is apparently much better than going to the gym.  as long as it doesn't affect you, i don't know why you care.  he doesn't ask how many dicks you had in your mouth over the weekend.

i wouldn't do it myself , but i keep saying the second i can go in for hrt, i'm sprinting to the "clinic".  we're all vain, and we care much more about what people think of us than they actually do.

with that said, my wife's cousins often go to eastern europe to get dental work because it's "cheaper".  sadly, most of them are handsome millionaires as they bought up parts of chicago in the 70's that were practically condemned and are now "hot spots".

as shitsukki said, the dentists may be just as good there as in the US, but at least here if they fuck up there's a way to fix it, either by suing or them guaranteeing the work.  you go to a 3rd world shithole dentist to complain, and he just pulls a gun on you.

Bay this seems to be a problem for a few friends of mine that got lipo. Not huge weight issues like I did but still. I look at them I'm like WTF.

I told myself, if I wanted surgery to remove the tad of loose skin in the lower ab area, I'd wait at least 2 years. Well 2 years has come and gone and I've kept it off. It isn't a lot of money 2500, (2 estimates and yes that's alot of money but not for surgery IMO).

I think the same thing happens to people that have gastric bypass that are only 100-200 llbs overweight. They put that shit back on because they didn't teach themselves to eat right

A friend of mine (46) recently admitted to me that he had liposuction to remove fat from around his waist.  I was shocked and disgusted by this news!  He was a varsity soccer player back in high school with a physique that anyone would respect; even in college he was in good shape.  Sure, time takes it toll and sitting behind a desk for twenty years doesn’t help, but there is nothing stopping this guy from hitting the gym and eating right.  I used to mock people who did this sort of thing, but knowing a friend of mine did it truly disgusts me.

Even more disgusting, he had it done in Costa Rica where apparently many Americans now go for rejuvenating vacations; you can have the surgery and convalesce/vacation at the same time in the cosmetic surgery resort.   I checked online and sure enough there are several such cosmetic surgery resorts in Costa Rica.  The point is to save money (CS is much cheaper in Costa Rica) and go away so no one has to see you looking swollen, bruised, etc.  You simply say you went on “vacation” and come back looking rejuvenated/slimmer.  Something stinks about this whole thing.  I’m not as lean as I once was, but I would never do this!  Cosmetic surgery to restore my face after an accident?  Yes.  But this?  No.  >:(

why would you care what he does with his body?

why would him getting lipo cause you to look at him differently? seriously- your going to judge him cause he got lipo? hes not a crack head or smoking meth.

you need to re-think your values bro.

A lot of people from Western Europe go to Asia, especially Thailand for plastic surgery and visuscorrection. The MD´s are usually trained in Western countries. But when something goes wrong you´re in trouble.

Weren't you the "no one" not so long ago saying that all fat people are disgusting? Isn't it a little hypocritical and not very positive of you?

Although I'm all for live and let live, someone who lose 80lb via dedication versus 20lb being sucked out of them definitely won't have the same respect from me.

I am not stopping him from doing what he wants nor would I want to.  In fact, he was admitting his lipo to me because he, himself, is uncomfortable with the decision he made… on some level it went against his own values.  No one wants to self identify as lazy, a cheater, or undisciplined.  Incidentally, I didn’t tell him I was disgusted. I merely listened to his “confession.”

Unfortunately for him, and people like him, lipo does not solve the problem because they are still caught up in the lifestyle habits (poor diet, sloth) that generated the fat to begin with. ::)

I feel the same way about lipo..It grosses me out,..

I see people that are fat as weak, and getting lipo is an easy way out..

Unfortunately, it is not even that.  As I said back in May, “The fat we see around our waistline is a reflection of the fat building up around our heart and the coronary disease that goes with it.  Unless you lose weight legitimately (good diet and cardiovascular exercise) your heart is still at serious risk.”  Lipo makes people think they are better off (they "look" better), but it really hides the fact that their insides are laden with fat and a disaster waiting to happen.  :-[

To each their own, don't really care what anyone does to themselves, your body your choices!  but like you said there are usually deeper issues that need to be solved

Haven't had a chance to read all of this but I found the 1st page interesting and have a couple of unprofessional comments.

First ... Is liposuction actually considered "cosmetic surgery"?  I picture it as nothing more than inserting a tube in your stomach and then sucking out the fat.

When I was doing taxes in the Los Angeles a lot of the movie people would want me to claim their cosmetic surgery procedures as a deduction on the federal tax form but back them most cosmetic surgery was non-deductable unless it was for health reasons.

The rules might have changed since then but what really surprised me was the number of Hollywood folk that paid big bucks for cosmetic surgery that I could not see even though I was less than a few feet from their well known face.

And even a bigger surprise was the price they paid to have a Nip here and a Tuk there.

It ain't for the average income earner.

I wo'n't say "most" but a lot of the major and minor stars have some form of cosmetic surgery sooner or later and you all know damn well that it's not too uncommon within the world of bodybuilding to have your butt or calfs or chest redone a bit in an attempt to take home a $5 trophy or $100,000 first place cash.

(No ass tucking jokes, please!)

Cosmetic surgery may sound dumb to most of us but if you got the cash and have the need to look your best within the public eye (movie stars and politicians mainly), it's smart to follow through and get Nipped and Tucked ... but only by the highly respectable and professional Nip and Tuckers, MD, PhD, etc.

I don't recommend it for everyone ... but I can recommend the best to anyone.

It seems that chin implants are the big thing lately in hollywood with both male and female stars.  I know a guy that denies it but he had a plastic insert in his chin and had lipo suction on his abs.  He is a skinny muscleless wonder but he has abs in all his facebook vacation pictures.  He now has a squared off masculine chin when in earlier pics it's makes the implant look so obvious.

I suspect that both Howard Stern and Jenifer Aniston had chin implants. Look at both of their earlier faces compared to how they look today.  Also I'm guessing Stern had some taken off his nose.

OLDTIMER, I don't know the personal business of any of the above you mentioned and if I did know, I'd be reluctant to say, but there are many, many other screen and TV stars that have undergone the knife but want to keep it confidential.

The surgeons I know (not many...  but I do play poker with a couple on rare occasions) tell me that if it looks obvious, it isn't plastic surgery ... except when the job is done on the cheap or if it's done too damn many times.

Joan Rivers has made a business out of joking about her reconstructed face and it's definitely evident that she's had it done more than once or more than a dozen onces. She is one of the very few who can talk about it. A lot of people pinch her thinking that she's one of those wax museum figures that look like real.

Cosmetic surgery on your face is another subject and not at all what I’m talking about here (though I would never do that either).  The issue I have with lipo is that the guy I know who did it is obviously conflicted about doing it; lipo goes against his values, yet he is too vain to do without it and too undisciplined to eat right and exercise.  I have known this guy since grade school and I remember when he was a varsity athlete in great shape.  To see him fall all the way down to having lipo is kinda shocking given I knew what I looked like years ago.  And now, less than a year later he is thinking about having more work done (in Costa Rica again because it is so much cheaper)!

The other issue is that people who do this very often continue the habits of living that made them fat to begin with so nothing has really changed; their organs are still surrounded by fat with the attendant consequences just around the corner.  :-[

OK, Bay. Thanks for the intelligent response.

The people I have been talking about are the type of people who want a temporary fix so that they can look decent in their next movie project.

They are not overly concerned about long term because they figure that they can come back and repeat the surgery when their next movie role becomes available.

That my opinion but it may not be theirs.

BUT I think that this friend of yours is looking for some kind of moral support from a friend before he does it again.

If that is so, it might be best to support him unless it will do some harm.

To me, it's evidently pretty damn nice of him to have enough confidence in a friend to discuss how he really feels. He wouldn't discuss it with ya otherwise.

But what the fuc do I know.

You say that like it's a bad thing. 8)
being judgmental IS a bad thing bay. I like you but the way you talk about your friend who got lipo is kind of immature to be honest. Live and let live, there was no crime committed. However your comments about it being unhealthy are right on
