ok??? this from a guy who steals his name from a murdering racist and is to stupid to know how bad ABBA's "music" was. (Che: i put quotation marks around the word music because I don't think they're performances really qualify).

Do you know the history of the Cuban revolution?

Whoever that is influenced Van Halen. Hell, Van Halen covered Budgie songs in the 70's. Most Americans have NO IDEA who Budgie are. Again, criminally underrated.

To the guy who thinks Hendrix should be in there, well, he is more of a 60's rock star. Not a 70's.

are you saying that since Jimi died in 1970 and didn't release any albums that year, he's not that much of a rock star of the 70's?

also, i'd like to add Funkadelic and Stevie Wonder. Yeah, Funkadelic's funk and Stevie Wonder's R&B (I guess), but they made some legendary music.

Not a bad list. The most obvious omission is The Who. Who's Next came out in '71. That's when they really started to peak.

One of my all-time favorites is The Outlaws. In their prime, they blow most of the bands on that list off the stage.

Another underrated '70s band was Foghat. Foghat Live is one of the all-time greatest "single" live albums. Two others that come to mind are Cheap Trick: Live at Budokan, and Lou Reed: Rock and Roll Animal.

If you're going to include solo rockers, Ted Nugent, Peter Frampton and, of course, Clapton would have to make the list.

You are right. It isn't important cause you know. LOL.

Castro sucked the dick of my Great Grandfather's cousin. He didn't care who watched. . . Hell, my Great Grandfather's Cousin  gave him a half hour so he could draw a crowd. I was like WOW when i learned this. It's true. Castro is/was a flaming fag.

I figure everyone "south of the US" is ripe for Homosexual activities. I learned that on GB

What the fuck are you talking about  ???

How did this whole thing go gay? Why must your families gay penis sucking be brought into this?

This may be...I don't know who they are, and after reading about them, they still do not sound familiar, but I'll take your word for it.
Van Halen (Eddie) was heavily influenced by Clapton, but that's common knowledge.
I agree that The Who should be on there as well.
Either way, music was awesome back then.  Now we get sh*t like Justin Beever and Taylor Swift.   ::)

My list would go something like this:

Best rock bands of the 70's:

1. Led Zeppelin
2. Black Sabbath
3. ACDC
4. Pink Floyd
5. Kiss
6. Aerosmith
7. Budgie (criminally underrated)
8. Scorpions
9. Thin Lizzy
10. Judas Priest
11. Rush
12. Van Halen (Tail End)
13. Deep Purple
14. Genesis
15. Blue Oyster Cult
16. UFO
17. Rainbow (criminally underrated in the mid-late 70's)
18. Motorhead (Tail End)
19. Rolling Stones

nice list but still a huge fail omitting the who...and the rolling stones at 19 is criminal...

clapton did not tap,and solo on the neck like eddie.eddie used distortion, hammer, and other techniques most players never did or he expanded on it.page, hendrix, did wild stuff before, but eddie is the king .if u ever seen eddie play live esp during his guitar solo like it or not the arena is his for 10 minutes and it is something to see and hear.
