that's right.  you date men...so the natural instinct to play the gift giving game with women just never developed.  or...do you show up at the door of a hairy, musky white boy with a box of candy and flowers?  as newmom would say...creepy.

Gents, it's that time.   Today I bought my stone.  The specs on it are great, BUT it has a medium blue florescence.

Anyone with experience here?  Thoughts?

return it with receipt and get your money back ASAP

Think this answers your question:

http://www.diamondexpert.com/articles/color.html

When shopping for a diamond, check to see if it has fluorescence. If it does make sure that it is BLUE and not some other color. The last thing you want in a colorless diamond is a potentially interfering fluorescing background color such as yellow, green or orange, which might greatly detract from the stone's appearance. If the diamond has blue fluorescence, it probably won't be a factor in the stone's appearance UNLESS the intensity is strong or greater, and even then only infrequently is it a problem. Nevertheless, make sure you verify that there is no effect of fluorescence under all conditions of lighting - from bright sunlight to all types of artificial lighting.

x2 Bay had a topic about this a month back of his rings he got for him and his partner I think, they were gorgeous and didn't cost thousands of dollars like diamonds do.

it's quite easy for a fool to get money now days and before.  All he has to do is show up to work manual labor or other crap job for a couple years and he has some money saved up.  Spends all on girl he meets and there goes all the money he saved up.

Also Parker money is not always earned, many times it is inherited from family, also lottery very rarely, but you know how those people end up most of the time, so Bay's quote is perfectly fine.

I have several text books on diamonds. I looked at a 12 carat diamond with florescence and it had that 'gaslike' look. My advice is to compare your stone with another the same size but without that blue florescence. If you are happy with it then don't worry. You are buying pleasure and happiness via that ring.

The price you pay in retail shops is about twice what your stone is worth. If it came up for auction that is what it would fetch. If you have to sell it then you might get 1/3 of what you paid for it. If you aren't in a rush you can wait for an auction and buy then and have the stone reset in a ring of your choice.

Have a look at the Rapaport diamond prices. That is the industry standard for prices world wide.

So can anyone on here speak of my original fluorescence issue?

A GIA survey found that fluorescent diamonds were favored over non fluorescent diamonds in both the lower color range AND in the higher colors, (D, E, and F) which are usually discounted by the trade. Many years ago D-F colorless fluorescent diamonds were highly prized and referred to as "blue-white," but sales people abused the term by including any diamond with fluorescence. So, usage of "blue-white" was outlawed by US trade practice laws.

Discounting Fluorescent Diamonds
One may argue for discounting fluorescent diamonds, because the GIA lab grading lights actually emit a small amount of ultra violet light. Thus, fluorescent diamonds might be assigned a better color grade. It is difficult for graders to determine a diamond’s true body color with even a small amount of ultraviolet light in the mix. The counter-argument from the GIA Gem Trade Lab is that UV light is present in many viewing environments, so it follows that color should be graded in realistic lighting.

I just bought a GIA certified 3 stone ring from Jamesallen.com. I looked at bluenile and it does come highly recommended but the settings were limited for what I needed.

I wouldn't worry about the blue flouresence if it isnt overpowering. It's likely you won't even notice it.

I work in the diamond industry.  Some good resource sites are:
http://www.diamonds.net/cms/Consumer-Resources.aspx
http://www.hwgem.com/diascale.htm

BTW, the Jews got that shit held down like tent pegs.  If yer gonna buy a diamond and want to get first hand info/advice, talk to a Jew dealer.  Ignore the Paki's and dot Indians.  They're all about pulling the wool over your eyes.

Spend no more than $200.
Chances are, you'll get divorce anyways.

My buddy just recently asked for his ring back, after being divorced for 3 years...and his ex wife is getting remarried.
You want to guess what she said?
haha
NO.

Of course.  Don't be fooled by the "eternal" concept or "she's the one".  Be smart, spend $200.  Any girl worth having, wouldn't give a shit either way.  Unless, she's a cock whore who shows off her ring to her friends.  If you couldn't lock your finances or tell anyone you're getting married, would people even do this pointless thing?  Answer, no.

Be a leader.  Just say no..haha

Oh yeah, buy Canadian.  Cleanest stones on the planet, highest quality, and they have an aura the ladies love.  The whole pristine Arctic, Northern Lights thing.

Its got a GIA cert.  The lady on the phone from Blue Nile said she guarantees I won't notice anything with the medium blue.  She said only the strong blues you can really tell antying
