Sorry to put a serious twist on this but you should get the digital (finger) exam starting at 40. I ignored signs for 1 1/2 yrs blaming it on other things. You know how us guys like to self-diagnois ourselfs so we don't have to go to the doc. I went in finally and he first tested my PSA and it was 100% normal. When he then performed the digital exam he immediately felt a mass. After going through a test that makes the finger in the ass seem like a breeze it was confirmed to be cancer. My prostate was 90% engulfed with cancer. It was removed plus some lymph noids. The cancer luckily did not spread and I have been cancer free for 1 year and 2 weeks. I have had 5 major back surgeries and those were f'ing nothing compared to what I went through with this deal. So get checked and don't just go with the PSA. 20% of the men with prostate cancer had a normal PSA level, I was part of the 20%. Again sorry to be a downer. (no homo), does that help?
