we don't know he was talking shit, he said something about kicking an extra point supposedly
-- Come on, dude. He was acting like a dick and he got popped…and not one of his teammates stepped to Seymour in a serious manor. Seymour has never had the “dirty” rep. Ben must have said something pretty fucked up, and he paid for it.
if he said something more, so what? players talk trash, you don't think brady was rubbing it in when he spiked the ball last week? what about him chewing out anthony smith in 07 after he threw a td pass
-- Brady spiked the ball after having his head driven into the turf by Troy P. He talked about it on the radio the next day. Brady talked shit to Clark in 07 because Clark was talking a ton of shit in the media prior to the game, and then he got embarrassed on national TV. Back to my first point….watch the Brady spike video, you can actually see Brady recognize when the crowd becomes volatile due to the spike and he immediately turns away and ends it. Apples and oranges, man. I’m not saying that Seymour did the right thing, I’m saying that it was funny and poetic justice in many people eyes.
seymour should've tried hit ben hard the next series, there is no excuse for a punch or slap
--You’re right, but the fact remains that Ben got bitch slapped and not one of his teammates stuck up for him. I’m just pointing out how he stuck his chest out thinking he was a big shot, and got owned into oblivion.
why is ward dirty for bragging about his hits? all of his hits were legal until he broke keith rivers jaw, which wasn't helmet to helmet unlike the chung hit
--Because he also glorified hurting defensive players beyond the normal hitting. Ward was named the dirtiest player in the NFL for a reason. Just like Rodney, he plays dirty. The Chung hit was not helmet to helmet. His helmet slid up a caught Ward as he was trying to make the hit. You see the second Patriots defender drive Ward into Chung. Not to mention, the rule only applies to a defenseless player, or if the player launches or leads with the helmet. Chung did none of those things and that’s why he was not fined. It’s just comical to see a dirty player cry about a dirty hit, that was not even dirty. Ward caught the ball, and had taken a few steps before he got popped. He’s just lucky no one “Clarked” him when he wasn’t even catching a pass or looking in the direction of the defender.
again steeler hits are between the whistles, most of harrison's hits were not penalized and the only steelers to be ejected from a game over the years are ike taylor in the preseason and joey porter for fighting before a game
--I just showed you a video of Clark laying a filthy dirty hit on Welker. I also made reference to Timmons very late hit on Brady from behind. Sorry dude, dirty is dirty – whistles or not.
we can't compare a punch/slap to hits/tackles during a game
--Sure we can. The commissioner fined Seymour 25k for his stunt and Harrison 75k for one of his hits. Cleary Harrison’s actions were worse. Unless of course you think Goodel favors the Raiders over the Steelers, which is laughable, because Rooney is the most respected owner of the NFL, and his team is one of the most profitable. Goodel runs a business, man, he’s not going to be unfair with one of his best performing franchises.
