They couldve tackled seymour and still stayed in the game. I doubt the first thing on their mind was "oh shit he hit our qb, i better not do nothin or ill get tossed out"

it was more along the lines of "oh shit, seymour doesnt give a fuck, i dont want to be punched in the face too, let me act like im concerned about ben though"

that was a real bitch move by the steelers oline

why is it impossible to think they didn't want to do something stupid?  if not all football players are '"douchebags" then not all football players are neaderthals like seymour too :)

the steelers oline dominated them so who really is the bitch?

why is it impossible for you not to be a homer?

that was incredibly lame reaction by the oline.

do you think mike tomlin would say, "good job fellas, seymour smashed our franchise player in the face, but cooler heads prevailed"

bullshit.

I agree, and I'm not a Steeler hater. They are a top team in the AFC and Ben is an elite QB. I have advocated him as a top echelon guy many times. Sure, he’s a scumbag fuck, but he’s one hell of a QB.

It’s quite obvious that not a single Steeler wanted anything to do with Seymour. It’s also pretty obvious that Ben’s mouth wrote a check that he could not cash, and Seymour bitch slapped him. It’s no different than a young punk opening his mouth to the wrong guy on the street. When the Pats played the Steelers last week, Troy P was being a dirt bag and grinding Brady’s head into the turf after he sneaked in a score. At that point, Logan Mankins tried to rip Troy’s face off, and a scuffle ensued.  After Seymour LAID OUT the franchise, all the mighty Steelers could muster was a light push and some trash talking?

Earl, I love your passion. Throwing around words like “Neanderthal” and “thug” is classic considering you are a Steelers fan. Was Hines Ward just not named the dirtiest player in the NFL? Harrison has 100 grand in fines for dirty hits… Clark laid one of the dirtiest hits in history on Wes Welker last year and last week Timmons hit Brady from behind, late. Those are some random examples I can come up with off the top of my head, and I don’t even watch the Steelers.

Football is a man’s game and I don’t penalize the Steelers for being rough and tough. I do call out Steelers fans who cry about other tams harboring thugs and dirty players, though. Pot meet kettle.

Still love you buddy!

I wonder if all the women Ben abused feel the same way? How about all the random dudes he treated like shit at the bar? Hitting on their gf's and all that jazz. He's a great player, but a vile human, and I think that what Sey did was funny, because not one Steeler stepped to him and Ben crumbled like a little girl. Maybe next time he'll think twice about opening his yap.

Not only that, but Seymour owns three Super Bowl rings himself. It was almost like Michael Jordan slapping Dwayne Wade in the mouth.

Hines Ward is one of those players who you hate to play against but love him as a teammate. I'd love to have a Hines Ward on the Ravens, sorry to say.....

those are plays in between the whistles, seymour was after the whsitel and you can't punch or slap a player at any time during a a game of football

big difference if you ask me

it's funny how a wide receiver can be considered the dirtiest player, i think receivers are expected to be soft primadonnas, when they have the balls to fight back like hines they cna be thought of as "dirty"

If you ask me, Ben talking a bunch of shit (after making a score on the Raiders) is egging a guy on, and he got what he was asking for. Unless of course he thought screaming at a 300+ pound monster (at the peak of his frustration) would yield a smile and a hug. That's why I found your neanderthal comment funny, because, Ben is a classic neanderthal who runs on emotion, putting little thought into his actions. Riding a motorcycle with no helmet, being aggressive with young women in public bathrooms; the list goes on and on with this dipshit.

As for Ward, yea, he's dirty, imo. Micheal Holley (the guy who wrote the books about Belichick and Tito Francona -- also has a sports show here in Boston), said that Ward bragged about all the guys he's lite up during an interview that he did with him awhile back. Said he talked about watching db's eyes roll back in their heads and all this other shit. Then the little bitch is crying for a fine against Pat Chung because he hit him to hard and knocked his ass out. But that's my whole point with the Steelers and their fans, hypocrisy! On one hand you're all in denial about Ward being a dirty guy; you claim he is a hard nosed football player, and that all the other players are babys, but the second someone goes after one of your guys, they are a thug or they are dirty.

As I've said, the Steelers are hands down the greatest franchise ever, but most of their fans are border line delusional. Which is a good thing because you are all true FANantics. I respect your emotion, dude.

To sum up my long winded post...Steelers fans calling opposing players "dirty" or "thugs" is sort of like a midget calling someone short.

we don't know he was talking shit, he said something about kicking an extra point supposedly

if he said something more, so what?  players talk trash, you don't think brady was rubbing it in when he spiked the ball last week?  what about him chewing out anthony smith in 07 after he threw a td pass

seymour should've tried hit ben hard the next series, there is no excuse for a punch or slap

why is ward dirty for bragging about his hits?  all of his hits were legal until he broke keith rivers jaw, which wasn't helmet to helmet unlike the chung hit

again steeler hits are between the whistles, most of harrison's hits were not penalized and the only steelers to be ejected from a game over the years are ike taylor in the preseason and joey porter for fighting before a game

we can't compare a punch/slap to hits/tackles during a game

OMG...Of course Ben was talking smack. Why else would Seymour have dropped him? Because he's a neanderthal? Yeah, he's a neanderthal with three rings who got pissed off and lost his temper.

Over his impressive, long career when has Seymour demonstrated this kind of behavior in the past?

Almost every player in the NFL talks trash. Seymour got verbally provoked by Ben and Ben got dealt with. What's the mystery here?

we don't know he was talking shit, he said something about kicking an extra point supposedly

--  Come on, dude. He was acting like a dick and he got popped…and not one of his teammates stepped to Seymour in a serious manor.  Seymour has never had the “dirty” rep. Ben must have said something pretty fucked up, and he paid for it.

if he said something more, so what?  players talk trash, you don't think brady was rubbing it in when he spiked the ball last week?  what about him chewing out anthony smith in 07 after he threw a td pass

--  Brady spiked the ball after having his head driven into the turf by Troy P. He talked about  it on the radio the next day. Brady talked shit to Clark in 07 because Clark was talking a ton of shit in the media prior to the game, and then he got embarrassed on national TV. Back to my first point….watch the Brady spike video, you can actually see Brady recognize when the crowd becomes volatile due to the spike and he immediately turns away and ends it. Apples and oranges, man. I’m not saying that Seymour did the right thing, I’m saying that it was funny and poetic justice in many people eyes.

seymour should've tried hit ben hard the next series, there is no excuse for a punch or slap

--You’re right, but the fact remains that Ben got bitch slapped and not one  of his teammates stuck up for him. I’m just pointing out how he stuck his chest out thinking he was a big shot, and got owned into oblivion.

why is ward dirty for bragging about his hits?  all of his hits were legal until he broke keith rivers jaw, which wasn't helmet to helmet unlike the chung hit

--Because he also glorified hurting defensive players beyond the normal hitting.  Ward was named the dirtiest player in the NFL for a reason. Just like Rodney, he plays dirty. The Chung hit was not helmet to helmet. His helmet slid up a caught Ward as he was trying to make the hit. You see the second Patriots defender drive Ward into Chung. Not to mention, the rule only applies to a defenseless player, or if the player launches or leads with the helmet. Chung did none of those things and that’s why he was not fined. It’s just comical to see a dirty player cry about a dirty hit, that was not even dirty. Ward caught the ball, and had taken a few steps before he got popped. He’s just lucky  no one “Clarked” him when he wasn’t even catching a pass or looking in the direction of the defender.

again steeler hits are between the whistles, most of harrison's hits were not penalized and the only steelers to be ejected from a game over the years are ike taylor in the preseason and joey porter for fighting before a game

--I just showed you a video of Clark laying a filthy dirty hit on Welker. I also made  reference to Timmons very late hit on Brady from behind. Sorry dude, dirty is dirty – whistles or not.

we can't compare a punch/slap to hits/tackles during a game

--Sure we can. The commissioner fined Seymour 25k for his stunt and Harrison 75k for one of his hits. Cleary Harrison’s actions were worse. Unless of course you think Goodel favors the Raiders over the Steelers, which is laughable, because Rooney is the most respected owner of the NFL, and his team is one of the most profitable. Goodel runs a business, man, he’s not going to be unfair with one of his best performing franchises.

Heres the thing about if Ben was talking shit.  I hear it constantly about how things "ain't like they used to be" and how old timers wouldn't tolerate the shit players do today.  To me, if you talk shit, you should be prepared to get popped in the gums.  Same in all sports.  If when these homo WR's did their 10 minute dance offs after a TD, some D-lineman would give them a powerbomb in the endzone, it would stop.  Same thing with all the woofing in basketball....

Need more self-policing like hockey.
