or they could apologize like Olberman did for helping, however unitentional, to foment a climate where violence seems to be suggested as as alternative to peaceful opposition of a political rival or idea.

we actually don't know what motivated Loughner

my speculation is that he is nuts but we don't know if he wasn't also influenced by violent political rhetoric

I also don't know what motivated Fuller.   He could also be nuts

As a general rule, sane people don't usually make death threats and they most certainly don't shoot up crowds of people, including children

I think it's pretty clear he thinks (and he's made the statement many times before, as have others) that the use of violent rhetoric and imagery have no place in our political discourse.

I don't see him drawing any lines of direct cause and effect
