No...who does better in their own weight class should determine who wins. You forget exept for one person (the one I trained with) I was the oldest one in our open class of I think 25-30, my partner took 4th (he was 48) I took 6th missing the top 5 by a point in both classes.

I never downgraded your age old duck... I actually think seasoned guys can be competitive well into their 40's..
