Mods: Feel free to move this post to its appropriate location...
I just had a couple of family members return from combat duty and on the way home from the airport they were still in their combat gear (minus weapons of mass destruction) so we stopped at one of the shopping centers to get some civilian clothes so that they could go out to some of the LV hot spots.
I was pretty amazed by the vast number of civilian shoppers who made it a point to come up and thank my guys for their overseas service. Both of them have been there more than once and are looking forward to a return 'visit", and both of them were very 'touched' by the people that stopped them to say a simple "Thanks!" or to spend a few minutes talking about their own sons and daughters who were still over there.
That 45 minute shopping experience was very moving and on the way out of the store while returning to the car we passed a good number of people who acknowledged us by some sort of sign I was unfamiliar with.
So when we got back to the house they both showed me a website video which explained it.
I'm forwarding it to you GetBiggers who may be interested in a new way of showing a small token of appreciation.
