Yeah, Shockmaster is way up there on my list, along with Repo Man and Saba Simba.
My least favorite of all time, though, has to be Dusty Rhodes in the black and yellow polka dots with Sapphire. I'm surprised he didn't just light VKM on fire when he found out that was going to be his gimmick.

I only watched the first video so forgive me if I'm redundant. Some horrible gimmicks there. I remember a couple more...Dumpster Drosie...and a one-shot called "Friar Ferguson" oh, brother

Dusty has said a couple times the polka dots were his idea...but who knows?

Another "brilliant" idea from the same mind that produced the "Shockmaster," another "worst-of" thread highlight. Once again, WHY THE FUKK IS RHODES CONSIDERED SOME KIND OF "LEGEND?"The common man? How fukkin common was it to leave your house and pass THIS on the street:

Rhodes was an incredibly versatile worker. In a 9:36 second match, I counted: 2 bites, 2 kicks, 12 punches, 27 elbows, Choking (I guess),And ear pinching. No wonder the Japanese fans loved him...shades of Karl Gotch. What’s even worse is Rhodes actually wears an elbow pad…as if the dangling adipose isn’t enough to protect his humeral-condylar fragility.

The whole Kevin Sullivan thing where he was the master or something and had his followers going through the woods and caves all the time wearing their wrestling outfits. I think thise who were in the spell were the Giant, Perry Saturn maybe...I don't know but it was so ridiculous it was funny.

Dammit, I’m melting down hard for the first time ever on this board, and I don’t give a shit! Back to Rhodes... He draped himself in black & yellow polka dots, and booked the “Shockmaster.” Yep; sounds like one of the industry’s greatest minds to me. Hogan inspired millions of kids to lift weights. I would say that Rhodes inspired millions of kids to lift jelly doughnuts, but I doubt that’s true. Growing up, I never saw a single kid dress up like Dusty. Nobody was Dusty when we pretended to wrestle. Although, I now recognize the irony of pretending to engage in make-believe fighting as a child.Dusty, you were a bum. The only reason people liked you is that your pathetic lethargy, obesity, and tits were enough to make most guys feel better about themselves! Dusty, the bottom line is that, even without the polka dots, YOU were the shittiest gimmick to ever plague professional wrestling…even when you stood in the same ring at the same time with this guy:

This guy. The whole Crow thing with the baseball bat. I've never seen him wrestle one time. Except for that match against Hardy that was posted on here when Hardy was wrestling high. Thats all I ever need to see.

I can not remember his name, I'm pretty sure he was early wcw sometime in the late 80's. He was supposed to be from the future. He came back in time to save us or wrestling....does that ring anyone's bell?

Lasertron? And putting Sting in this category is ridiculous. The Crow gimmick was WAY over at the time, and I'm not a big Sting fan. I would still vote for Red Rooster, but because it took a very solid in-ring talent and made him into a complete and utter joke who will always be remembered for it.

I remember that I quit on WCW (and missed out on the fingerpoke of doom, David Arquette, etc) when for about four weeks in a row the main event on Monday night was Glacier and Ernest "The Cat" Miller vs. Wrath and Mortis (managed by James Vandenberg). Jeebus.

So Monty....tell us how you really feel about "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes? I really think his popularity had more to do with during that time period there was a clear face vs heel thing and if you followed territory wrestling during that time, they ALWAYS put Rhodes against the most over heels. Whether it was Sullivan the devil worshipper in Florida, the Four Horsemen, etc... I think it was more of a "he stands up to them" kinda thing. I hated the fat slob, more as a mark than knowing anything about him. And another not so small part of Rhodes "popularity" was he was often a major booker in the territories.
