Thankfully no one has ever lifted a hand to me when I was working on the door in almsot 6 years!

It is the way you conduct yourself to a great degree!
wow you must be so incredibly intimidating.

A tall retarded looking ginger with both eyes looking at different directions, obviously a pea sized brain in a thick skull, no education to speak of so has to compensate somehow... I'd be intimidated a lot...if i were actually going in losers places where we can find guys like you.

It is down in 99% of occassions to myself being civil, not being a bully and not even doing things like swearing that escalate the situation.

I am actually pretty well educated. Have a Law degree (choose to to pursue this career) top grades all through school etc. Not that this means much in the grander scheme of things.

'Losers place' i work in a bar, I guess you don't go into a bar then.

One thing is that I have never said something on here I would not say in real life. I also have not lied on here either. No point.

Good luck.

Also I have a FT job in a public sector role which I also enjoy. I do the door PT and I do enjoy it.

I do not claim that I am some super tough badass who pits the fear of God into all I meet.

The door is to a large degree a customer service job and something I feel I am quite good at. By eliminating potential troublemakers before they get in solves most of my problems. Even when i do this I am civil, I give a reason. I do not do any of the "regulars only" or "not tonight". I say why I refused them entry and make a suggestion as to where they could go etc (ie wearing wrong clothes for bar etc - I explain it is the policy of the bar and not my policy). Saying that I do sometimes make mistakes.

Of these 90% I would guess shake my hand, say no hard feelings and go on their way.

I am just in from work a short while and refused one person all night and no-one was asked to leave despite it being pay week and the bar being very busy!
