Since I am retired, I not only sleep late, I can take my time fixing and eating breakfast. For me a must have is orange juice. Many days, I have a cup of Greek yogurt and a slice of buttered toast. However, I also cook some eggs up every couple of days too. When it is a bit cooler, I like to eat a big bowl of oatmeal with sugar, butter and half & half on it. To my way of thinking, I have all day to burn off any excess calories taken in at breakfast time. Oh, and I generally have a cup of coffee with half & half. This morning I had two bear claws and two basted eggs. I just finished eating breakfast at noon.
Some of you complain that you don't like this or that. Fortunately, I like everything if it is fixed well. Fish, poultry, red meat and dairy are all good with me. I like all vegetables too. As a snack, I often drink a glass of V-8 juice. For a late night snack, I'll eat a couple of pieces of cheese. Lately, it's been swiss cheese, but I like all kinds of cheese. I feel fortunate that I don't have to work around dietary issues or food preferences like some of you do. My one criteria is variety. I don't like eating the same thing day after day. Eating should be enjoyable and not a chore.
