Its more of the American "Instant Microwave" mentality. Americans want things, quick, in a hurry. They want instant solutions. Like instant meals. We (Americans) are used to it, so when it takes awhile, it's very natural for people to complain.
yup
i would also partially blame obama because he was such a good speaker in his campaign and he really had the ability to get the american people behind him, everyone believed he was going to make some big changes, but once he got elected he became more pragmatic and compromising instead of sticking to his idealistic platform. the american people never saw him make any great speeches once elected, never saw him really fight for the things he wanted to do, and so they lost faith in him.
Actually only a few people "predicted" it would last this long. There's no question that it hasn't been compounded by this administrations policies, however. We're much worse off than what we would have been if things were handled differently.
very few politicians predicted it because they wanted votes but if you would have been paying attention to NPR or c-span at the time the crisis was unfolding (fall 07) you would have known then that this recession was going to be around for a long time and that america would not reach an economy the likes of which it had in 2006 for a decade or more.
