Good points.  I think that as with most people, Platz still desires to be relevant when it comes to something he is considered an expert at, i.e., bodybuilding.  This is why most such people will try and "re-invent" their particular wheel. 

Case in point.  Many years ago there was a book titled "The Complete Book of Running".  I believe the author came out with another one several years later.

Genetically his legs were top notch. But all the determination and consistency and drugs didn't help him build his upper body. Which was pretty bad even for that time period. Back then legs didn't matter as much.
