TA...you're missing the bigger picture. The organizers behind this march understand that you can extort money from the Obama Administration using votes. The same way the latinos will leverage amnesty for votes, the same way the unions will leverage the auto industry bailout for votes, these "occupiers" will get their student loan debt forgiven (now that Obama runs the program) for the promise of their votes.

And Obama does not have the spine, experience, or intelligence to do anything but give them their way.

No reason to the CEO?  No reason?  Yes, because being the CEO of a fortune 500 company is just so simple, stress-free and unimportant that a some schmuck making 61 grand at the same company deserves equal pay to the top brass of the company.   Roll Eyes  That homo making 61 grand is nothing but the epitome of greed.  It was all fun and games when he was making 61 grand a year for years and years.  Why should he be guaranteed anything?  Now he makes 12 dollars an hour and wants MORE MORE MORE MORE.  I wouldn`t hire this little bitching greed monster based on his dumb note alone.

You are really a moron and have gotten dumber as of late.

Hi, SF1900.  Good to see you again.

Say, you claim to be in high demand with some sort of advanced degree.  What would you suggest a young person take in college, to make sure they aren't "exposed" on getbig by The True Adonis?  What is it you do again?
you see any signs with finance or accounting degrees written on them?

well lets start there...

I'd like to point out how massive the difference is regarding University education here in Australia.

Very few people live on campus, they mostly commute from home and go back again, like a normal job. A fuckload of of costs averted there by not paying accomodation fees.

Furthermore the government funds your degree and the amount is deducted very gradually from your salary once you start working. Additionally you have to earn over 48k or so for the deductions to occur, anything under and there are no deductions. If you live overseas for 10 years or more the debt is wiped clean.

I'm guessing the logistics of the US with its much bigger population and so many more Universities may not allow for such a system, but it works very well in Aus and there is nothing like the stress which occurs in the US here.

A law graduate can earn a degree for like 30k here.

Are taxes really lower in Australia than the US?  That's what I've read, but not quite sure?

they cant use loud speakers so the speaker says something and everyone repeats it so that everyone can hear it.

I'm a Democrat and, while I would love to argue, I have to go to work now.

My traitorous and thieving ass went to college on the GI Bill.

Half the people calling these 99 percenters don't have jobs. That much is obvious.
YAYYY!!!!

youre taking care of yourself, why arent these ppl doing the same?

and some of the ppl pointing out the obvious idiocy and hypocrisey does what to invalidate their points?

oh thats right NOTHING!!!

well lets start there...

Have you even looked at the site for more than a page or two?  Because I have.

I've checked out the site, and found that most of the people with college loan issues don't specify the pursuit they've made.  Others have followed things like Computer Science, Education, etc.  So the idea that they're all "native drum-making" specialists or whatever is simply bullshit.

The other group that make up the bulk of posters are people who are working low wage jobs and are either currently experiencing a financial disaster (medical mostly), or are in fear of experiencing a financial disaster every time they spend their last dollar on food.

So on the one hand, we have people who have no right to complain about their minimum wage job since they haven't gone to school to better themselves.  And on the other hand, we have the people who have gone to school to better themselves but have only gotten a toilet paper degree with a large side of debt to go.

Sorry, but this thread turns out to be total bullshit.

TA your wrong on this count, you might be too young to know anything about protests or every was involved in one yourself. After all your generation is the most sold out generation ever, sipping starbucks, using Iphones and wearing Nike shoes.

All great movements started by the grass roots movement, by people not corporations. They are started by a group of intellectuals who put forth ideas about societal concerns. If those ideas strike a chord and have a ring of truth they will catch like wildfire with the everday population. Yes the essential ideas may get water down or misconstrued by some ignorant participants. but for the most part the movement will continue to thrive and prosper including all classes of people.  There is a truth to the Occupy Wallstreet movement if you cant see it now you will soon.

In all the great movements, environmental movement (Love Canal), civil rights movements, Anti Vietnam movement, Gay rights ( Act Up) and Animal rights (PETA), there are always some odd balls, hippies or misguided people, but they are very useful to the movement as they provide the numbers and are efffective in street theatre. But believe me there are much stronger minded intelligent people that will bolster the rest and give the movement meaning and power and eventually realize the goals, at least some of them.

Dont be ignorant TA, the media always shows the worst of a group of people, they do it all the time to try to discredit the protest, after all the media is a corporate machine. They dont like dissent or anarchy. It is not in their financial interest.

Please look deeper into the Wallstreet movement because the truth is there and you will feel foolish when you realize you almost missed it.

people that wanted to go to college out of highschool were the preppy asshole kids in school with mommy and daddys money

yes i had help from mommy and daddys money but id didnt feel deserving enough to make them spend money on me to go to college because it didnt morally sit well with me.

I already had it in me that working a regular job was way more "manly" and cooler than being a "pussy" and going to college and getting into debt.. My parents praised the hard workin man and those values resonated with me, i didnt want to be a college pussy like everyone else even though i know i wouldve had a whole lot of fun and hoes in college and made alot of friends.  I miss not having mad alot of friends but so what im not in debt and didnt fall in the trap

I'm just glad I have always lived well beneath my means, often to the ridicule of others, knowing that the entire economy from 2002 - 2011 has been one giant ponzi scam.

same here i never ate out or bought much beer at bars or nightclubs maybe one max rarely more and mostly not spending a dime. ive gone without cable tv forever, driven the same car for the past 9 years

There is a truth, but it seems to be a mis-guided one. Sure, Wall Streeters are scum, who made obscene profits/bonuses, year after year, until their profligacy almost brought down the economy. Then, they asked for, and received public funds to bail out their private losses. And, when the economy righted itself just enough, they went right back to making their obscene profits, again. Anger here, is justified. But, these protesters all seem to be justifying their own private losses/greeds for similar calls to the public purse. Problem is, they chose poorly, and in too small a scale. Lose small, it's your problem; lose large, it's the bank's.  Wink
