I missed Ironage too but when it wasn't fun anymore so it was time to leave. It started to feel like I wasn't welcome there so I moved on.

I had no idea, assumed you still posted there.

Wes,

we left because Jeff and Ken who contributed a lot to the board were looked at by some as an afterthought............ ...there`s a bit more to it,but that`s about it in a nutshell.

New Site:

Same here actually.

It was good while it lasted though.

Sat right behind Jeff and Richie B. at the Mr. America in Atlantic City when Robby Harrop destroyed everyone in his class including one of my friends.  Thought the show was his until Joe D. flexed those big old arms and pecs of his.  Amazing how Joe would seem to be weeks out and then just barely dial things in right into prejudging and the night show.  Got a bunch of pics of those guys that I'll try to post on this thread if I can remember how.  Jeff King was one of my favorite guys back in the day.  The old Atilis Gym in Wildwood NJ had a bunch of giant posters of AAU guys and lots of pros on the walls done very nicely.  Super motivating.  Platz leg shots, Beckles biceps, Gaspari in his prime.  Barretta winning the America.  I'd train for like 4 hours straight and crawl out of there with nothing left on the table.

I`d love to see those pics if you can dig them up.

I liked a lot of the AAU guys.....too bad they never got the exposure that they deserved.

Wes, I completely agree.  Being from South Jersey all the NPC action was hours away up in North Jersey, thus I was brought up more on the AAU side.

Didnt they try that with the "Classical" thing, and that Mr. Universe dude who is always doing vacuum shots in Universal ads?

I don't know. Seems like a good idea but I guess once it reached the point of putting on more muscle than a frame can aesthetically handle, there is no going back..
