you need to start with the hips lower and with a tighter back arch and try to maintain that back arch as much as possible throughout the lift
try to push more with the legs instead of just pulling with the back
this is more effective and safer
only use a weight you can use with reasonable form, as long as your squats are improving the deadlift will follow
