Rearden,
I can't agree with you more. It is astonishing to me that people actually argue against GH15's advice, and I also notice a common theme among these people- they often point out irrelevant and false points to "weaken the argument." A common theme of dissent among GH15's haters is, "your wallet will go empty", or however they choose to phrase it. On the contrary, GH15 has saved me thousands of dollars in the past couple of years- thousands upon thousands. I followed phase 2 of his bible to the T, and stopped funding the industry of lies (supplements), with the exception of two things- a basic pre workout for the occasion when I am truly exhausted, and 2:1:1 recover, which gives you 100 grams of carbs and 100 grams of protein with 3 scoops and I love to use it post workout. I buy the tillapia that he suggests buy the bulk; the rice; etc'. This leads me to the other common theme among GH15 haters: "he only promotes an obvious cause and affect: more drugs equates to better results". Gh15 talks about much more than hormones. He taught me how to eat right and he taught me to get off that site of lies (bb.c0m in short hand) which told me to never have the cheat meal and to eat chicken breast and rice. Bull shit. I retained more fat on that kind of diet than I ever have because my metabolism was as slow as Dick Cheney's. These sites promote massive lies; dangerous propaganda. Layne Norton is beyond a liar- he is a thief. He is just another part of the engine that steals so much money from the ignorant, and on a relative tangent, this is just a microcosm of the failing american economy. Do you think the stock market does not adhere to a rely upon a similar web of propaganda, fear and false hope that the supplement industry does? Many of you will immediately assume the previous statement is outlandish and false, but I can thoroughly back up my point if any of you are interested in the similarities. How many people on wall street actually know the truth about their industry and how many are pawns? How many people in bodybuilding actually know the truth about our industry and how many are peons? We are starting a movement in the name of honesty to better our fellow bodybuilder. When somebody with knowledge of the truth of the economy starts their own movement, the economy slowly gets fixed. That is how important I think GH15 is. I think he is the whistleblower that is saving this industry, and if you don't want his advice, then continue posting false arguments. Continue feeding into the propaganda machine that is the supplement industry. Feed the liar Norton and feed the owners of bb.com. Be another pawn.
I'll just continue to follow the truth. And whenever phase 4 comes out, I will laugh at the hatred that it receives, and at the same time I will follow the information to a T.
See above post.
For whatever it's worth, you're talking to a guy who makes his living in the industry you seem to hate and say is full of lies. I've worked in media, with supplement companies, marketing, show promotion and everything in-between. I'll admit, there's a lot of garbage out there, and that goes for supplements and what certain people say. At the same time, it's not all garbage, not all supplements are bad, and not everything everyone says in this industry is a lie. Even you yourself don't believe everything is a lie, if you did, you wouldn't be taken the two supplements you do take.
When it comes to supplements, absolutely, most of them are not worth your time. Yes, there are some good supplements out there, but there's no supplement out there that's going to turn you into a pro bodybuilder.
When it comes to the articles written....depending on the type of article you're talking about....absolutely, there's some great information out there. At the same time, there is information that can be somewhat misleading if you don't know how to read between the lines. This is the same practice used in every marketing venture on earth. If you drink Bud Light you're not going to automatically be surrounded by 50 beautiful women, and you know this but you choose to drink Bud Light because you like it....or eat this food, or drive this car or whatever. However, when it comes to supplements, people seem to flip on a different switch in their brain....they so badly want to assume if they eat XYZ protein bar they'll look like Arnold, or they'll get the girl. What causes this thinking here and not at other places? I have no idea.
Further, you have to remember, and this is very important, extremely important....when you're writing an article for a magazine or website, or speaking on the behalf of XYZ company, you are bound strictly by the constraints of the law. No one is saying massive steroid use isn't a part of the game, but no one can openly in an official way say that it is in a manner that could be taken as promotion. Granted, the IFBB takes it too far, they hide behind a misleading veil of purity that is greater than it needs to be....but a lot of it is out of fear, and that is somewhat understandable. There are those out there who would love nothing more than to see the IFBB and bodybuilding itself nothing more than a discussion for the history books.
