Speaking of a dollar short, are you still sending money to Ron Paul?  And have you cracked that 911 conspiracy yet??

How many times have I ever brought up 9/11 conspiracy?  ::)

I don't think Newt's problem is dishonesty.  It's his past and leadership style.  He pretty much speaks the truth when it comes to the issues and what needs to be done to fix the economy.

Romney is definitely an opportunist based on the way he tried to out-liberal Kennedy and now claims to be a conservative, but I wouldn't necessarily call him dishonest.

If you're looking for honesty from politicians, all I can say is good luck with that.

Even Ron Paul, who is an honest man, is just a politician.  He acted just like a garden variety politician when it came to accepting stimulus money and earmarks, despite speaking out against both.  It's what politicians do.

Sounds like he's going to do it.  Will make for a much more entertaining campaign.

Christie: I Don't Rule Out VP Run
Thursday, 22 Dec 2011

WASHINGTON - New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who dashed many Republican hopes when he said he would not run for president in 2012, said Thursday he had not ruled out running for vice president.

Christie endorsed Mitt Romney shortly after announcing in early October that he would not join the group of Republicans vying for the party's presidential nomination. He has been campaigning for the former Massachusetts governor.

"The fact is if Governor Romney comes to me and wants to talk to me about that, we'll have a full conversation about that and then (my wife) Mary Pat and I will make that decision about what we want to do with our future," Christie said in an interview with his wife on Fox News Channel.

"But my view is, I think if you fast forward the tape to a year from now it's going to be President-elect Romney and some other VP-elect and Chris Christie the Governor of New Jersey," he said.

Christie said he did not think Romney wanted to be "presumptuous" enough to talk to anyone about being his running-mate when he has not yet become the nominee.

"There will be plenty of time for that once he sews up the nomination and I hope that he'll talk to a broad range of people to try to find the partner that he thinks will best serve him and best serve America," Christie said on Fox.

The first nominating contest of the 2012 election, the Iowa caucuses, takes place on Jan. 3.

Republicans and deep-pocketed donors had urged Christie to seek the Republican nomination to run against President Barack Obama next year. But the blunt-talking governor announced in October he would remain New Jersey's governor, a position he assumed only in early 2010.

Romney needs to pick either Rubio or Susanna Martinez.    IMHO.   Susanna Martinez is better than Rubio.

she is a real honest regular person.  her spouse is cool as shit.   Rubio is not tea party.   He is RINO.  He is supporting the rendition law and will get crucified over it.  Susanna Martinez is bad ass.

Go Fat Man, go Fat Man . . . .

Chris Christie wows New Hampshire crowd. Romney-Christie ticket, anyone? (+video)
Chris Christie joined New Hampshire front-runner Mitt Romney on stage Sunday, responding swiftly to hecklers shouting 'Mitt kills jobs.' He added Jersey-style charisma to the button-down Romney.
By Linda Feldmann, Staff writer / January 9, 2012

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who resisted repeated entreaties to jump into the 2012 presidential race, joined New Hampshire front-runner Mitt Romney on stage at Exeter High School – and was soon competing for attention with hecklers shouting “Mitt kills jobs.”

Without missing a beat, Governor Christie defanged the protesters, Jersey style.

When the hecklers switched from “Mitt kills jobs” to “Christie kills jobs,” the larger-than-life governor stopped in his tracks. “Really?” The packed gymnasium erupted in laughter. “You know, something may go down tonight but it ain’t gonna be jobs, sweetheart,” Governor Christie shot back. The crowd roared.

Christie 1, Hecklers 0.

rubio has less experience than obama had in 2008.  or palin.  he's going to be attacked for that.

NO WAY romney chooses a guy like that.  He'll get someone who has at least a decade in public service at the highest level.  There are plenty of thunes or mcdonnels out there who have been vetted for 20 years and have military experience.

you get christie and you have a guy who is a stubbed toe away from calling a female reporter the c-word.... let's be honest.  He's awesome, but a loose cannon.
And rubio is an known - he'd be vetted to all hell - and he's not that experienced guys, you forget that.

Plenty of respectable voices with conservative records.  Thune DESTROYS rubio and christie, and is a SAFE choice.  He's not going to break a sweat or make a gaffe that sinks it all.

No, not Tony Soprano.  Christie is the guy on the left, Bobby 'Bacala' Baccalieri.

I like Christie too.  That is why I want him to do what Huckabee did, change his lifestyle and lose a couple of.......hundred pounds.  It'll be sad if he kills over before he can do much more in politics.    :'(
