The majority of americans are hetero = so being homosexual is abnormal.
The majority of americans voted for Obama = so voting against obama is abnormal?
is it just the margin of victory that makes it right?
The opposite of majority is minority, not abnormal. The antonyms for normal are: abnormal, exceptional, extraordinary, odd, out-of-the-way, strange, unusual. I believe you have your terms confused.
Thus, the majority of Americans claim they are heterosexual, therefore being homosexual puts one in a sexual minority. The majority of Americans who voted, voted for Obama, therefore those who voted against Obama were in the voting minority.
Unfortunately, the majority of folks in the U.S. do not vote at all in most elections. Of the eligible voters in 2008, only 56.8% voted. Considering that there is good sized portion of the U.S. population who are not eligible to vote, then clearly the majority of the folks in the U.S. did not vote at all in that election. This means people who vote regardless of who they vote for are in the minority.
Did you get that?
