eh, 'too much' external rotation? 99.99% of the people here or in Anygym in Anytown, USA will have
too little external rotation, resulting in impingemnt in the shoulder.
i've did these for a while back in '09/'10, and i don't miss that bar crashing into my neck one bit.
better off doing snatches from your knees, or at the very least using a hammer strength jammer.
