I liked the cool animated nature of it, seeing the fast rate that the store grew.  An excellent of capitalism - if you want specialized service, you go to a more expensive option and get good service.  At walmart, the lines are long and the service is often incompetent - but prices are cheaper.

I stopped at walmart for 100 bucks worth of healthy food today, got a full cart.  Wore headphones and a big ass fanny pack and gave evryone dirty looks, of course :)

One could argue that Walmart jumped the shark of Capitalism and has now moved into the realm of socialism. Too big to fail?

Easily done.  Cities and towns can choose to not let them in.  Where I live this is exactly what they have done.  No new expansion is allowed whatsoever.  Nothing is to be built ever.

What about houses?  Can ya'll build new houses?

No, which is why the population hasn`t changed since 1800.

What about supermarkets?  Where do ya'll get your groceries?  Gas stations?  Do you have to drive somewhere to get groceries and gas?   ???

Not far at all, but grocery stores are considered outside of city limits.

It's a monopoly numbs nuts, this isn't good capitalism, as it's based on the concept of competition.

Walmarts thrive in places that are too small to support more than one market which means it's exploiting small towns far more often than big cities. Which is why it has been noted that many major cities ban it, as it makes no difference.

If it's a competition I guess Walmart won. I don't believe in regulating what size buisiness can be put in any town under most circumstances. That's a liberal democrat position of regulation that says government knows best. Let the winner be the place where people want to spend their money. That's free capitalism.

Walmart stinks because it's a complete outlet for China. Just about everything sold has a China connection. If you are looking for a job it's being done at China. The factory making your Walmart can opener took an  engineering job, laborer, secretary , foreman, security, accountant, lawyers, architect, janitor and countless other jobs away because it's made there by workers making $50 a month.

epic dramatic attempt at using large blue dots.  Why don't they use dots to scale of the country and you wouldn't even see them.  Aren't there more subway sandwich shops, 7-11s and even McDonalds?
