yeah ray or labrada 90....88 ray 1st mr 13th,,,benfatto was amateur late 80's a more bulkier look then seen 90 and on mid ninties he really brought that classic benfatto look around he was much fuller looking as amateur his 1st mro was 90.after 90 some defected to wbf.. |

Thanks nj, yeah i'm getting my years mixed up. There were a few guys who didn't get their dues. Clairmonte looked insane as an amateur, he lost a bit of sharpness after he went pro. Pastel was another one, can't think of many faults with his build. Francis looked really good as an amateur in the 87 universe. |

Labrada could and some fans (myself included) thought shouldve won it in 89 90 I gotta say Ray Benfatto looked very good, but nowhere near as great as 90 in 80s, but 91 he came 7th and that year he was fantastic building up to the olympia, just missed his peak, bigger and better than ever But haney was haney and time ran out for smaller guys post 1990, anyone under. 220 stood no chance, |

1990 was the drug tested Mr. O and Haney trailed Labrada going into the posing round and still won. Mike Christian actually looked the hardest, fullest onstage, almost like he circumvented testing. It was close, but Haney edged Labrada, even though he was down about 20 lbs from his normal competition weight. Both looked a little soft. In 91, testing was removed and Haney crushed Labrada. In 91, Haney's back was absurd. That's how I remember it.....  |

Benfatto looked great as always, but under 180 at 5'6", he got outmassed

Haney was at his all time best in 1991 but I agree there's no way he could've beaten Yates a year later. Some people feel that Yates should've beaten Haney in 1991. I personally think it could've gone either way especially now when I watch the video of the show. Haney has the look of defeat on his face at the end.
i was there it was close but Haney just edged Yates (and all here know im a Yates fan). |

He was less tan 5% better than 1991. 1993 is where Dorian became Dorian. 1997 was when Dorian left the building as he knew his time was short. |
