True. Maybe they felt better when the matter was more "contained." Once it came out in the open, they may have felt pressured to do
something.Because she was up for tenure, and they didn't want some sexy looking "guidance counselor" thumbing her nose at them, and possibly not giving any up.

I thought that tenure conditions were different outside of the university setting. I don't know the specifics, but I don't believe that being tenured in the high school or grade school system provides the same benefits as at the collegiate level.
But, tenure may not even have much to do with this. It may just be coincidental that her termination happened now; even though I doubt it.
