Entering the  Zone, runners high, going with the flow, and other such names seems to happen when the pace of a workout pickup's faster. Higher rep squats and such. Or working in with another guy or two, giving not much rest between your next set.

With me it can be GVT or the PHA (or other forms of circuit training) system and also with higher rep squats, Dl's or cleans. Think the oxygen debt may have a lot to do with it and it's effect on certain parts of the brain (personal view...only).

Sports also, big time. Had a running back once who swore that things slowed down and it was so much easier to run and pick an open spot...things just flowed. Or basketball players who have hit net about every time they took a shot, in full play. Marshal arts player's and boxers get into this Zone quite often .Some say it's almost like watching themselves preform. Meditation, with breathe control, has been know to do this also.

Wonder if Tom Platz got into the Zone with his very high reps in squatting? Good luck.

Frank Zane found a connection with Meditation and Bodybuilding. Martial Artists achieve zen so why not us Bodybuilders??
