30 degrees

for incline presses and flyes.....any higher than that hits the delts......i never could develop my chest until i set the bench at 30 degrees.


now my chest is improving quite nicely.

pretty much agree and 45% for biceps as per steve reeves.when he trained for the mr u contest in york pa they special built this bench to his specifications.

I think it might have more to do with you simply trying a new angle that you have not used before.

i agree... personally i've found certain angles more comfortable than others over the years and if i happen to train at a new gym where the benches are slightly different there will be minor impacts to my max sets...

not necessarily a bad thing

  100% spot on. I always use between 30 and 35 .

Steve Reeves loved this Exercise...i read too that he even attached a padded bar to the back(against his triceps) so his upper arms could not move...
