Johny Falcon and other craftsmen, how can I fix my ceiling?

whats a milk house? or is that an old shed or barn?

Its just a little building that sits lower in elevation and is made out of stone and has a stone floor.  Some have water running under it from old Ice Houses or little streams.  They were used to keep dairy products cool before electricity.  Pretty Efficient.  Thomas Jefferson used to keep Ice Cream in his along with Milk.

still unable to fix this

i went around to home depots like shops

but the things they have to glue on the ceiling are way smaller than what i have

and i just dont understand how it was before it was removed

from the looks of it there was a space between the thing and the wall

and normally it's supposed to be between ceiling and wall

seemed to be like it was between ceiling and mid-air? (just connected on the side walls

take the other molding down then repaint the ceiling=easiest fix

or painstakingly put something decorative but big enough to fit up there...who ever had something up there before FAILED at doing so because its not up there any more

in your situation i think the celing would look better if it was the same color as the walls

Put a valence up across the top of the blinds. Butt the crown moulding up to the valence. Do it right just don't put crown across the blinds.

That does kinda look like a cluster...  Like Johnny said, take it down and paint the ceiling (white, not that brick color).   Then either replace the crown molding since you can't find something to match (maybe check online), or just paint the walls an ceiling and forget about replacement.  Consider adding texture to the ceiling to hide all the imperfections and/or maybe do a knock down texture on the walls.

flat crowbar and hammer to pry it off dont cut it out for god sakes dont put up that ceiling texture unless you know what the fuck your doing that stuff is aggravating

Use a box cutter and score the top and bottom seam of the moulding.  Run it down the entire length all the way around the room.  This will cut through the excess paint and caulk.  Next, and Falcones said, use a flat pry bar, or wonderbar and hammer to pry it away from the wall.  Make sure you use a wood shim, so you don't tear up the sheetrock.  Take your time and work from the bottom and top.  (that's what she said)

Drill a hole and find the strongest beam,hang a rope with noose at the end over beam,tie rope very tight.let noose hang so your feet don't touch the ground,stand on chair,put noose around neck,step off the chair and kick it out of the way.

this is really giving me a headache

im a plasterer from uk....the coving has been cut back more than needed or the person doing the job has attempted to put coving up along that window wall, but only attaching it to the ceiling......and then maybe having their blinds running (hidden ) behind the coving



taking the rest of the coving down will most likely damage the ceiling and walls and if the ceiling and walls are papered then the damage will be greater.


strip all paper and coving and full skim will do the trick ;-)

removing all that paper was a bitch in the ass

i had to go to rent a steaming machine to remove that shitty ass paper
