i'm in a situation similar to archer's. only 26, but the gray is coming really fast (happened to everyone in my family), and it's thinning out substantially up top. it's not very noticeable when really short, so mostly i keep my hair somewhere between a #1 and #4 guard in length... haven't even thought of taking drugs for it tho, not that i could afford them at this point. i have a rich friend who went on "really expensive" medication -- had a serious bald spot going on and regrew everything. now he claims he's off everything entirely
possibly the biggest bullshitter i know.
heme iron, lack of vegetables, and stress i guess
weird thing is, though everyone in my family (except mom) went gray very young, only me and my oldest brother are losing hair. my middle brother, dad, and everyone in extended family on both sides has a full head of hair. oldest brother and i are the only ones into lifting weights as well... bodybuilding related? we both used creatine for several years in our youth, as well. didn't it come out that creatine was nasty on the hair? it's things like this i wonder about from time to time.
