they all cook pretty similar these africanos no matter where they live

a lot of greasy shit and a lot of carbs

that's why they are fat a lot of them (but not even close to what fat means in american context of course)

but where do you get your calories then?

i mean according to all the sport nutrition scientists you pretty much have to have a caloric excess to gain muscle size

and a lot of bbers also claim this

so if you're always low carbing

where do you get your calories? high fat intake? how so...

I aim for very little carbs but at the end of the day they add up. I focus more on proteins and fats...peanut butter and mayo adds calories.

gets pricey though as protein is not cheap. I stock up when theres a sale on cottage cheese...tuna...ham..etc

I eat more dairy when gaining...has more carbs and adds up.

For sweetening stuff I use equal...

I've gained lean this way...also a night eater so I skip breakfast and lunch most of the time.

yeah protein is expensive

and i'm a cheapskate

so i try to figure out what is the minimal amount for maximal gains

and i get irritated people never specify if they're talking about total protein

or only complete protein

Well for me...I don't even worry about the incomplete protein since I don't get much of it. But at least 1.5g when in gaining mode. Oh but I have to mention I do fill up on carbs every 4 days or so....just go by feel. I may be getting about 100-150 grams of carbs on a daily basis but when my body is craving some I'll have about 300-400. I don't really crave junk especially if I'm already over eating but I'm not picky on these days...

Sometimes I keep a food log ...I just looked at my fitday account at my food log when I was trying to gain. It gets boring but I have no problem with it.

cals
3,824

fat
217.7

carbs
121.2

protein

351.5

All this came from ....

Maple leaf canned ham
Mayo
Cottage cheese
Tuna
Peanut butter

I even skipped the artificial sweetener and some veggie probably so cals are a little higher. Cottage cheese I remember mixing a cup with a tbs of peanut butter, some artificial sweetener and a dash of cinnamon...tasted like junk food to me.  :D

No bloat on this...even with the high sodium from the canned ham.
