it's about the best representative of the sport.  Look it up.  It was designed for the past Mr Universe's, etc, to compete and was meant to showcase the sport and top athletes.

Look at the dynasties... look at the years of brutal robbery.  The definition of the show is who best represents the sport.  It doesn't matter that Kai will be bigger, thicker, better everything... Kai would beat Phil and Jay at the Arnold... which is why they don't enter that show.  The Olympia is about who best repersents the sport.  Period.

So yes, Kai is going to look better at the O, every grownup knows that.  But we also know that Jay is doing more "for the sport" than Kai, is a "better representative", and thus will place higher.  And Phil, the safe champ and really a great face and attitude and behavior, he will win once again - even if he comes in 10% down and is beaten by Kai in terms of physique - Phil will win it again. Because that's what that contest is about.

Kai's physique is light years ahead of Jay. His guest posings are debatable, but he's a nice, humble, interesting & intelligent person (no homo)

Not the best body onstage that day.  It's the best physique + best body of work for the past/upcoming year for the overall good of the sport.
