Guy says he's going to be contest ready in a year. Maybe he will be and maybe he won't. What's the harm in encouraging him if that's what he thinks he wants to do. If he runs with the encouragement and makes improvements, everyone feels good, even if he doesn't get as far as he imagines in this amount of time. If he doesn't succeed or gives up, it is his problem and no skin off anyone else's back. I say give the dude a break already.
