Dude Dex is HURTING.... I talked to him at a guest posing and he was saying how beat up he was from the Olympia prep. Dex's joints hurt just like the rest of us.

Don't lift like a dick. Take the time to warm up.

I was trying to show up the liars on bodybuilding.com and was pushing heavy, heavy weight when I first started juicing. I felt invincible but always took the time to warm up. Was benching 350lbs, racked it. Dropped to 225lbs and did a couple sets close to failure. Was going to one more set despite my right pec feeling a bit odd and suddenly it popped! I freaked out but there was nothing bad. There was a tiny bit of redness in my chest, but I still feel it to this day. I struggle under 135lbs. I've benched 225lbs again but it felt sketchy as fuck. I will never flat bench again. Too sketch!

Did the same thing with my bicep too. Was curling with the barbell and felt a big time TWANG and my arm went numb. I stretched it all out and just finished by doing a super light pump workout and slowly stretched things to check my range of motion. I think I got off super lucky. Those could have been torn body parts forever. No need to lift ultra heavy and stupid for aesthetics. Nothing stands out more than a busted up muscle tear.

His joints hurt, but does he have torn biceps,triceps, lats, quads?

I felt that on the big 3 I needed to warm up and pyramid up to my work weight prior to hitting the really heavy weight.

So If I could do 365 x 5 on a good day, I'd pyramid up to 315. Do 315 x 5, 335 x 5, then go for 365. At least 10 sets and 30 minutes of "warming up".

exactly, just bc a tear didnt happen yet to many doesnt mean theyre not on all kinds of pain meds all the time.

and theres partial tears which one doesnt even notice until its too late.

I understated how much dex said he was hurting. He said it was BAD. Said he was taking some time off "to let Injuries heal up."

To analbollocks: Muscle tears are the only injury visible from the outside. He could have double glenoid labrum tears, tendinitis of every insertion/origin in his shoulder, Acromion bursitis, fried meniscus in his knees, and let's not even discuss the health of his spine from years of pounding away at it. Dex has no muscle tears (that we know of); that's a better statement than "dex is injury free."

dex had a bad nubain problem back the late 90's early 2000. surprised the hell out of me... besides cormier, I didn't know of many black guys who used bain. most were coke-guys.... never saw any 'tracks' on him, then again you never saw any tracks on CT either.... but dex's teeth look suspect though too. (as far as I know, dex got off in 2000)

ESF: what was the deal with Nubain back in the day? Wy did Bodybuilders gravitate towards it so much vs pills or anything else. I'm 25 so I missed this era.

It is very strong and addictive, just like morphine. They could train pain free and it made them feel really good.
