I was somewhat similar in that regard but I specifically trained for power and strength. Still, I was always the smaller guy who lifted with the lineman. With OTH there's definitely something wrong there from the bbing perspective. Dude is strong as hell but lacks the size to go with it. I'd personally take a lot of pride in that but I'm not really into bodybuilding.

when it comes to muscle, strenght is a relative term.explosive power vs linear strenght under load etc.
controled full rom training will gain more muscle than explosive movement with no contraction under full rom.
theres no such thing like this and that guy looks so and so strong.
example,duh, powerlifters.vs bodybuilders.
one will outperform the other in explosive 1 rep movements, the other will outperform the other with specialised bbuilding moves, slow, contracted, 15 slow full rom reps.
some have better ability to properly flex through whole rom, some suck at that.it shows in the muscle development.
