The Empire was not destroyed at the end of Return of the Jedi and probably still control a large chunk of territory.

The stormtroopers are conscripts from imperial territory.

I wonder who leads them.  Also, my theory is the new evil Jedi is actually a woman disguising her voice.

Just another green screen adventure, shot on location at the local green screen studio. Cant wait to watch another big "budget" film with big name actors in a green screen cartoon landscape as the back drop.

Looks like the Sith have returned, so that a possibility.

And yes, that deep voice did sound suspect.

Max Von Sydow is in it (villain from Minority Report, also King Osric from Conan, bodybuilding related :D).  He's 85 years old and I'm not sure what role he would be playing in a Star Wars movie other than a Sith Lord, although he kind of looks like Alec Guinness so maybe he's playing Obi-Wan's force ghost.

Some tit I've never heard of (Adam Driver?) is rumored to be the villain as well.

That didn't bother me.  There's always been an element of that in the all films, but they went way over the top with it in Episode 1, even outside Jar-Jar (C3PO battle scenes were cringe worthy).

I just think those making the film are well aware of the mistakes of the prequels, and will make sure they don't repeat them.

There's a theory going around the Twitter-verse that JJ Abrams put elements of that trailer in to get audiences to hate it so he could convince his Disney masters to kill it. The roller-droid being a prime example.

No no, kill the stupid elements of the script. If the world had been exposed to the idiocy of JarJar Binks before the movie opened, Ep1 would have been an order of magnitude better.

And don't get me started on the fucking Ewoks.

Very big budget, and shot at many different real locations globally

I experienced no hate for the roller droid.  He appeared quite concerned about what was going on, which is an excellent quality to have.

I'll never get the jar jar hatred.

OF all the shit floating around in those 3 movies he was bar far the mildest.

both anakins were fucking horrid.

The majority of the cast was as dry as 80 year old's snatch.

This is almost as bad as Vince Basile's theory of hypertrophy.  That was a great teaser trailer.

Totally agree.  How/why this kid got hired for that part, I'll never know.

Hayden Christensen was an annoying whinny twit, especially in the second movie.

Both of them could not act.  That did not seem to matter to Lucas though.
