Appreciate the journey? Of what? Humiliation? You must be kidding... There's NOTHING to appreciate of "getting old". It's like appreciating a form of cancer that kills you slowly, very "lucky", yeah... I'm still young and I've seen wuite some people "getting old" already. These who were powerful, agile, interesting, a true role models once, started to slowly "melt away", it's a harsh process to even witness not to speak of going through it by yourself. One must be a very average human being not to notice much of a difference and "appreciate it", otherwise - it's a digusting humiliation.
You are not appreciating it, it's merely your psyche trying to cope with that horrible process and not go insane so it finds "positives" in it, simple as that.
The sooner aging will be "cured", the better, it has already took way too long. Oh, and it will be "cured", it's a shame for these of us who'll die just before of that... It will be like dieing of infection in a XXI century, in other words - ridiculously absurd.
