Frankly it seems like you are the one acting like an idiot here. You asked/suggested, " doesn't every American soldier suffer from mental illness." Obviously that is not the case. It is the kind of thing an uninformed idiot would say. I merely sited examples of two people I personally know whose circumstances answer your question by exampling that not "every soldier" suffers mental illness.

If you read about PTSD you will discover that it is not clear that it is a mental illness so much as a condition caused by trauma.
Do you seriously think I meant "every single american soilder"
Its a turn of phrase you halfwit.
And your son isnt likely to be suffering from PTSD bearing in mind he hasnt seen any action, I was talking about real soilders not desk jockies so that example is mute.

I see, "it's a turn of phrase".....nice excuse for misstating something. It would be interesting to see what would happen if you told my son to his face that he wasn't a real soldier....or is this just another turn of phase?

Did you serve in the military? Were you on the front lines? Or, were you just a "desk jockey"?

When I did the VA disability claim before i got out, I reported everything...  Ended up with 90% disability rating. which comes out to 1850 a month... So im very blessed. Im also moving back to Texas  San Antonio to be exact to go to UT of san antonio for engineering. Texas has great vet benefits

You are right 30% is pretty darn high. -Makes one wonder why folks decide to serve. If they knew these odds going in, they might think twice about their decision to join.

30% is nowhere near "every" though. Every means all, not 1/3.

Yes, yes it does.

Thanks.

It didn't appeal to me either. Especially when I was called up for the draft when my wife was 6 months pregnant. Fortunately, I didn't have to go. I might not have survived serving during the Viet Nam war. However, I appreciate that others felt and continue to feel differently and are willing to fight and sacrifice their health and sometimes their lives for our freedom.

It does get a bit tiresome hearing about the overwhelming odds the military has to overcome.

First of all: thank you for your service.

Have you considered the NSA? They already know all about the gear and that weird swelling on your ass last year.

We have been agreeing on a lot of things recently.

This is not one of them... its one thing to do a little juice, some leg extensions, and have decent legs. That doesnt mean that your knee is good to go at all.

He has had very serious surgical procedures done on the knee. Its legit fucked up. It was fucked up in the service of OUR country, he deserves to be compensated for it.
Oh please.  He was obese the majority of his time in the military.  Besides, he was a cryptographer in the Navy, not exactly front line stuff at all.  Fatty was desk jobbing it and hurt his knee because of extra twinkies.

There are real cases out there of people who need the money.  This is Welfare abuse plain and simple.

No shit.  I bet the Daily Mail would eat this story up.  "Roiding bodybuilder, going to the gym every day, claims disability despite "grueling" workouts".  This would make a good story for an investigative piece.  There are thousands and thousands like him abusing the system, meanwhile, thousands suffer with poor care at the VA hospitals who have legit battle wounds and permanent disabilities and disfigurements.

Now this ass clown, wants to go to school, find a job and STILL collect that 1850 disability check on top of all that while slamming down grams of steroids and training "like a beast" and claiming he is "disabled".

Fucking pathetic.  Probably votes Republican as well.

Would you put in 9 years for the chance at 1,850 bucks a month?

Seems like many things could happen during that time.

Besides, don't you think that the Navy doctors had to sign off on this? They obviously felt that Mike's injury warranted it.

How did you hurt your knee Mike?
