some of my best workouts where with 225 higher reps, man i worked out with a guy who competed in nats and he tortured me one leg day with 225lb high rep squats n i was a believer that day. he asked me how much u usually squat with,i said 315 for sets of 10 nice n deep rock bottom squats,if i did the ole cheating way alot of guys do them i could prolly do 405,u know the halfway down, not breaking parrallel crap. he smiled n said we only need 225 at most n i said to myself this aint gonna be that hard, man did i learn a valuable lesson and to this day i still try to do that workout alot of times, he saw me throwing up outside and said good job and smiled and said now u know the meaning of real leg training and patted me on the back
I recently switched to high reps lower weight. I never used to do 20 reps with 225, i saved my energy for the 315 (still a2g with good form, I don't consider it a squat if it doesn't break parallel). But nowadays I can only do maybe 15 reps max with 225 cause I'm down in weight and the carbs are low

So I just hang around 225 and do that for as much as I can, then drop down to 135 and rep out until I can't squat back up with it. I mean, I see the difference in my legs, more cuts, fuller muscle post-workout, but I also attribute that to getting leaner.
