Charles Glass said differently about training. Charles had said that he told Flex told to stop training that heavy. This was back in 92-93. And remember he trained with Chris Cormier, who was known for training very heavy. And Chris has never said Flex was weak.

So he trained hard for what, a few years?  Flex is notoriously lazy.  What happened in 1998?  He admitted to cheating on his diet and not training hard because he wanted to go clubbing and didn't want to be sweaty.  Not exactly Dorian Yates in the work ethic department.

Flex was right about the training though. Strength comes, better to train a bit lighter and for a pump to be more of a bodybuilder once you get to a certain strength.

when you meet an ifbb pro bodybuilder, you cannot expect them to be nice. they are constantly being harassed and annoyed for autographs when walking down the street. as soon as they leave their home, the paparazzi is all over them, taking photographs and asking them a million questions. then their pictures are featured in the new york times, new york post, enquirer, etc. if i was getting harassed like this, id be in a bad mood, too.

Yeah...and he ain't broke down like Ronnie (minus Flex's kidney issues). No, he didn't have Dorian or Ronnie's work ethic. Flex's main problem was his head. He said in his vid Mass Construction that after his accident, he went to the 94 O and didn't think he could stand on stage with those guys. That right there shows you that the accident "shook" him. He was never the same after it. For all that bravado, the man was scared, and sabotage himself. He liked the trappings of winning, but he'd rather do martial arts than diet.

Personally, I never really liked Flex's physique. Always thought Cormier was superior to him in every way.

When you look at Flex's physique with a critical eye about SEO oil after 1995, his muscles are water balloons. He also is narrow not unlike Heath...

Would say Flex's use of Synthol/SEO's was the best ever seen.

Flex early showing in 93 at the ironman and Arnold was behind the Yates Olympia 93,but still the second best presented body ever, with Leverone 93 Olympia being 3rd.  Ronnie can only be mentioned due to overall muscularity and size, the three mentioned on their days displayed size shape condition and symmetry at levels they never achieved personally again in their own career's. But in my opinion the sport never progressed after those showings

I liked Cormier's phyisque, and if you think about it, Cormier was more symmetrical than Flex. Cormier had the type of physique where nothing stood out, everything was proportionate. What Flex had was those super round muscle bellies and small waist, which made him look bigger than what he actually was.

he was without a doubt on a physique level one of the most genetically gifted with 'assistance'there was, even with the blown out unreal arms/delts 96/2000 that looked flexed'relaxed'he still pulled it off,,beaten to a dead horse 'his mro debut'was stellar...

I think the same too

Flex really only had a few good yrs where he looked out of this world , the rest overrated and weird looking body parts

Guy didn't have the structure to carry mass and when he played the size game his physique couldn't hold

Chris had the structure to carry mass. A 250+ pound Cormier looked better than a 240ish Flex. Flex's structure really looked good only with 216-225 pounds. Maybe 230ish, but that was pushing it. And the person who looked good at that range was Melvin. Dex had told Melvin to stop coming in the 230s, and that he looked better lighter, Melvin didn't listen.

Chris Cormier looked like he could carry as much weight as Ronnie, and still keep his proportions better than Ronnie could.

For the 1000th time still say Flex's 98 Arnold Physique may be the greatest ever seen. My opinion, don't care about Sandow's.

Better than '93? I don't know, Ronnie, that physique was flawless.

No body care about best showing only winning sandows matter

Like in basketball, football, soccer, baseball. Only thing that matters in the end is winning the big one, everything else is just secondary

Best current body of the 90's pro's maybe matched by Priest and Benfatto or Strydom and the last 2 weren't top pro's
