agree with him, using old school way
But you have learn how to do it many years ago. Then came Yates, who muscles were torn in so many ways, that he couldn't do it with the "right" old school way, and all little bodybuilders and wannabes has adopt his way of rowing. Why? Because you can lift bigger weights with that style. It doesn't make your back wide, it makes your upper body thick and that's why we see so many bodybuilders and wannabes without lower lats at all.
If you stop to think about that, you see that Yates have six Mr. Olympia's, so let say his style of rowing have 6 points. On the other hand, all the bodybuilders before him from Larry Scott to Lee Haney has used old school way, so just count Mr. Olympia titles of that bunch? It is 27 titles/27 points. Which is better? Old school rows are far better, but how to teach this fact to the bodybuilders and wannabes? There is no way to do that, so we have to thank Mr. Dorian Yates, because he has ruin more backs and cause more injuries than all other bodybuilding legends put together
