Are you asking if it's better to do deads from the floor? Or are you asking about bb row technique? Your questions are a bit confusing too me.

....not to be an ass, but start using spell check, not doing this is irritating to me, and I bet to others as well.

my question is more on the barbell rows. is it better to pick the bar from the floor like jay does?? then to use a rack?

I find I have a much more intense set if I set up in a nice, clear area of the gym and don't use any racks or platforms.  Just me personally, but I find I can go "animal" on the set and going to failure is much easier.  I'm not thinking about where I'm at in the rack or where I have to put the bar back to - just me, the bar and the floor to catch us all when were done!

Yes, it is
You want to elaborate, or just give matter of fact statements with no proof?

I think it feels more in the back! i allways load up one side with plates and put the empty end towards a wall. Great exercise!

Wasn't that what you meant? that's how Jay does rows. Otherwise it's just regular rows like everyone else does, nothing 'Jay' about that

That's not what he meant, he was referring to bb rows not t-bar rows, and there is a difference.

Jay does both t-bar and bb rows, they are not identical exercises, and both have their own unique place in a routine.

Bro, BB rows are where you grab a bar in the same manner as if you were doing shrugs. You bend over at a 45-90 degree angle depending on what angle suites you best for form and the best contraction. You then lower the bar and pull it up into your abdomen and repeat.

T-bar rows are where the bar is between your legs, perpendicular to your body. It is usually done with a close grip, but if you have the right attachment it can be done with a wider grip. Some guys will even do these one arm at a time, somewhat similar to DB rows. The way this lift works the back is similar to BB rows, but the angle and form of this lift is does affect it in its own unique way. Look at it like this, for every body part there are numerous lifts you can do for it, but each one is unique and has its own exact function. Think about it, both flat and incline bench work the chest, but each hit it in its own way.

I know the difference between those exercises, but he said Jay was doing bb rows different than everyone else...
i thought he meant the T one first because Jay does it with a barbell like that. it's a 'Jay' exercise :D
