I never said it was my gym, and it used to be a great little gym, but the owner is trying to target a different market, I only just rejoined again three months before Christmas and then extended that to an extra 12 months when he offered half price deals. Obviously the half price deals get all the douche-bags in for a month or two until they give up. I stick around because a) it is close to home and I walk there as my warm-up b) It is cheap (like me) c) it has a boxing space which I like d) I don't think he will refund my money. Having said all that, if it gets bad enough I will find somewhere else to train, there is another gym close by that has recently opened up and is one of these 24/7 gyms.
There are douchebags at every gym. It's best to just ignore them, although sometimes that is hard to do.
I've been a member of the same gym for over 30 years. Most of the time the folks working out there are good people, occasionally one runs across a jerk. There are some things people do which I find particularly annoying like when a group of 3 or 4 people work out together and spend more time talking to each other than they do working out thereby hogging the equipment forever. The good news is that with a large, well equipped gym, there is always some other equipment available where one can substitute a different exercise for the same muscle group.
