At first sigh, all these pig over-reactions seem like isolated events, but no sooner do you scratch the surface, institutionalized racism rears its ugly head. Black folks have had to deal with this, silently, for many years. Too many years if you ask me.
See, to put it in historical context, the US had a defacto apartheid system in place until recently. Blacks weren't allowed to go to many places, and in fact were systematically forced into urban areas by exclusionary practices (sundown towns, verbal town mandates, et cetera). The only way for whites to be able to enforce these unwritten laws/rules was to ask the police to keep an eye on the African American population. Little by little, these completely whites-only police forces developed a nasty hostile stance towards black folks, and whites were perfectly fine with it.
In comes the internet and the ability of news to travel real time. All of a sudden Americans see themselves being criticized in RT, Aljazeera, BBC, et cetera; and seeing videos of rampant racist situations and realizing US media aren't showing them these images. Until now. All of a sudden we see pigs doing what they've done all their lives and we get white-boy mad.
The very society that fostered that kind of behavior just a generation ago, is suddently giving up on their police officer's nasty hostility. And it's happening so fast some racist pricks (including getbiggers) have been unable to adjust to the new normal.
