Best lighting ever. 1999 imo was the peak of bodybuilding, physique wise. After that it begin to decline.

X 2 on the start of the decline.
I remember being a naive 16 year old nerd recording that very show on Eurosport and watching the vcr over and over while following the routines out of Arnold's book. A few years later I taped over it with porn

If I were a judge:

1) Ronnie
2) Levrone
3) Flex
4) Ruhl
5) Dexter

I can't overlook Levrone's lackluster bdb.  If you want to be ahead or the head of the pack, you need to be among the best in the bdb pose.  It has become the post important pose in bodybuilding. Ronnie's, Flex's, Shawn Ray's and Dexter's bdb better than Kevin.

The show never actually took place.  Smoke and mirrors, photoshopped pictures and advanced CGI techniques were used to project 3d holographic images onto a giant green screen. Add in some "audience sounds" and camera trickery, in retrospect the whole thing appears very believable. They used the same studio in which the Moon landings were hoaxed and the whole fraud was overseen by Stanley Kubrick.

Find me someone who attended the event and I'll show you somebody who walked on the moon :-)

I disagree. The 2015 Phil Heath Classic had the best lighting of all time. It was like a combination of Kamali's kitchen and the muscle rock from pumping iron

Yeah. Levrone's rear double bi look better when he did twisting variations...

Yeah, he just didn't have the definition needed in that pose to win an Olympia.  In every other pose he's good or great.  His bdb unfortunately is just ok.

In Levrone's 1999 British GP posing routine; he almost didn't look human when he leaned forward and let his arms hang

Perhaps this is more of the peak of bodybuilding. Or closer to it

Pre-gut Ronnie wasn't winning contests.
