Perhaps we should clarify exactly what merits being awarded blue stars. I thought it was awarded to those who have competed in a bbing contest. Clearly this is a necessary but insufficient condition. It seems that there are other conditions that have to be met: Does Ron like the person? You have to have competed at and/or after a specific year? If 1970 is too long ago that would have excluded Larry Scott, Reg Park, Dave Draper and many other legends. Your win has to meet specific conditions? Who the judges were and what were your relationships with them? Do you approve of the way the IFBB is run? What are your opinions of various major players in the industry: Bob Chic, Shawn Ray, Jim Manion, Melvin Goodrum...?

As with everything in the "sport" there are always going to be other factors -- politics -- rather than just pure merit. That's fine with me as long as it is clearly defined, consistent, and applies to everyone and applied fairly.

Until the next Moderator forum meeting I will submit a "yes" vote as
Vince is a legend and a fixture on this board in addition to being the 1970 Mr. Canada winner.

I just read an article about a study on the myostatin gene and muscle hypertrophy. It turns out that there is a very good reason for the gene and why it limits muscle hypertrophy. When you suppress the gene it does cause muscles to enlarge but as the muscle grows you start to lose functional ability. The muscle actually loses contractile force and ability to function.
