YEAH ,,,WHERES THE LUNGES LOL  :P...

I need to start doing lungs again. My balance is really off lately, maybe doing lunges would fix this as well as tighten my butt.

I see. Well, I hope you don't grow old waiting from our quad pose down.

Speaking of what to wear, after the raft of crap I got from some idiots in other threads on Getbig for posting up that photo of myself in orange Adidas, I was considering buying a pair of rainbow colored underwear to pose in for the next photo....just to give them something to talk about.  ;D -Yeah, my mind sometimes works in strange ways.

I'm exhausted just reading about your very ambitious workout. I'd be done by the time I finished chest. Good job!

yes i agree Jay...no wonder his triceps are thick...i struggle on tricep Training after chest...this is why i do Dips first when i´m fresh...Bench press i can adjust to my Needs but Dips you gotta have strength to do them and more importantly...safely. My chest feels good today and just pressing and Dips was done. so chest and triceps were worked but not with so much as Steve does... :o so i will get my back in today at the Gym then i´m back there again to work tonight...i like alternating seated cable rows ( Close Grip) with my favourite Barbell rows... :)

I know the feeling, although I can't blame work sapping my energy anymore since I don't officially work. My guess is that we just don't feel 100% everyday and if we did, we wouldn't know it because there would be nothing to compare it to.

I stayed up when I got up at 8:00 a.m. this morning. That's a plus since I often go back to bed for an hour or two which really shortens my day.

Yesterday, I finally made an appointment with my doctor to find out what's up with my knee. He better not try an blow it off like he did the last time I saw him. Something is screwed up and I want to know what it is. If he cannot figure it out, I see another doctor. I see him tomorrow morning.

i had to cut biceps short.....as i was running late and wanted to make sure to get cardio in......normally tris and bis both get at least 9 sets a piece.

You are a good man. I haven't done cardio for the past 6 weeks. I don't miss it because it bores me. Fortunately lifting raises my metabolism enough that I am slowly slimming down while not losing any weight. Still there are some areas that are hard to work and get the fat off of, like my lower back and my fat nose.

GOOD POINTS JAY,,,right now i'm in rip roaring shape and that alone gives me plenty energy work 10hr days, gym and or days off training play and run with kids which I love to do,,,staying lean/ripped other than the physical appearance it mentally and overall well being of shape is less stress on the body inside and out,,,i eat a well balance relative speaking for most part and still do bbing principals like protein/carb/fat ratios in some order...

Don't most people speak some English in Germany? Perhaps my view is warped since my daughter-in-law and grandchildren all speak perfect English despite that it is not their first language. My son is fluent in German. My daughter-in-law also speaks Russian and some French.

some do but "School English" and if you have an Accent they do not understand. If you speak real english with slang and not Oxford English ??? which no one does then they are lost. The Germans in the Gym who i work with could not understand him. They are used to my Scottish Accent.. ;D I also speak fluent German and am a Kaufmann here. My 2 sons speak English too because i made sure they learned it. The English they learn here in School is rubbish.

yesterday i did back.....

wide grip pull downs behind neck 4x10
Close v-grip pull downs to chest 3x10
wide grip barbell rows 4x6-8
Close grip cable rows seated 4x6-8
Hyperextensions 3x15

abs.. crunches on a mat feet flat on floor 3xmax.

i was tired as i wrote yesterday and Deadlifts were just not in at the end. Mostly pulley work and it was OK. sometimes you got to go by your instinct and Body Feeling. I have not slept well the last few nights, maybe because it´s got warmer here.... i do not like the heat.

Donny, I know how you feel that sometimes you have to go with instinct. I had 4 hard running sessions in a row with a injured calf that finally grabbed me by the balls and said stop this running.

I went to the weight room today with a planned out routine but I was so tired I just winged it. I did what I felt like. I never count these type workouts in my workout journal. I have heard it said and it's true that your body records every rep, set and cardio session. No work out log needed.

My daughter-in-law told me that I speak Oxford English back when she first met me 25 years ago. I took it as a compliment.

I don't know what being a Kaufmann means.

My grandchildren primarily speak German. They were taught English in school and some at home. There mother primarily speaks to them in German. My son speaks to his kids with a mixture of German and English. Other then some odd sentence structure and the occasional mispronouncing of a word, their English is passible.

Tuesday - hams

Weight 208

Note: I didn't work calves because I was short on time.

Lying leg curls, 4X14-8 @ 57-87 Lbs.
Seated leg curls, 4X15-8 @ 80-110
Reverse hack squats, 4X12-8 @ 90-360 added weight
Alternating machine kickbacks, 3X15-10 @ 45-125 each leg

I was in and out of the gym in less than an hour.

Today I saw the doctor about my knee. He suggested I get an MRI to see what exactly is going on with it. He noted that I cannot completely lock my right knee out. It is his suspicion that this is a problem with my meniscus. Generally this means surgery to repair it. Oh joy!  ::) I told him I was still working out with weights and that doing so actually relieved the pain momentarily. He didn't respond....I suspect he thinks I am crazy.

I did my warm ups for power cleans and jerks. 1x3 155, 1 x 3 160, 1 x3 165.  Then I loaded the bar for my first set and said to myself I'm not feeling it and left the gym. Drove to the liquor store and bought some beer.  Sometimes you have to know when rest is a better option.

Wednesday - back:

Weight 208

Hammer lat pulldowns, 6X15-8 @ 140-260 lbs.
Hammer rows, 4X12-6 @ 120-150
Nebula low rows, 3X12-8 @ 140-200
Reverse grip pulldowns, 3X12-8 @ 130-160
Nautilus front pulldowns, 3X15-10 @ 104-131
Nautilus rowing back, 3X16-12 @ 70-110

Back felt pretty good.

Thursday - shoulders and abs:

Weight 209

Hammer seated front press, 5X15-8 @ 90 to 170 lbs.
Standing dumbbell side laterals, 5X15-8 @ 10-17.5 ea side
Bodymasters rear delts, 4X15-8 @ 50-80
ISO shrugs, 4X15-8 @ 90-230
Cable upright rows, 3X12 @ 77-91
Nautilus crunches, 2X25 @ 80-90
Nautilus back raises, 2X25 @ 80-90

Didn't do leg raises or Nautilus rotary torso because I pooped out.

-MRI went well on my knee. It took about an hour. I have a copy of the pictures which mean nothing to me, since I am not experienced at reading an MRI. If what I am looking at is what I think I am looking at, there does appear to be a pretty nice sized tear on one side of the knee. I assume that is the meniscus. If I am right, it is no wonder it is such a pain!
