SOME CRAZINESS AT HOME LIFE,,KEEP IT BRIEF,WIFE EXCRUCIATING PAIN FOR ABOUT WEEK LEG/GLUTE/NERVE R/S LEG,UNABLE TO WALK AND EVEN SIT TO GO TO BATHROOM,HISTORY AND ACCEPTED BACK ISSUES IN PAST ,TREATED BUT LIVED WITH IT,LAST PREGNANCY WAS KILLER ON HER AND I BELIEVE IT WAS FINAL STRAW,MRI DONE FRI 1/3 INDICATED MASSIVE TRAUMA 2 NERVES AND L-7 DISC TO BE REMOVED CRUMBLED,,HAD SAME DAY SURGERY IT WAS THAT IMMEDIATE,,NOW WITH A 4 MONTH OLD SHE CAN'T BEND,WALK OR TOUCH HIM UNLESS HE'S HANDED TO HER AND THATS TOUGH.OTHER 2 KIDS ARE TO ATTENDED TO AS WELL,HAVE SOME FAMILY HER FAMILY I CAN'T STAND WE ACTUALLY HAD A MAJOR BLOWOUT THE DAY OF THE SURGERY AT MY HOUSE'MY WIFE DOSEN'T KNOW ABOUT IT;SHE IS A NITPICKING,SAY'S WHATEVER SHE WANT KIND OF PERSON'NOT IN MY HOUSE'ARE U FUCKING GOING TO TELL ME WHAT I 'NEED TO DO'AND SOME OF THIS IS CAUSED FROM MY'WIFE'DOING TOO MUCH,'HELLO'I DON'T NEED TO GO INTO FULL DTAIL WHAT 'I'DO AS PART OF THIS RELATIONSHIP.SO.....I MAY OR MAY NOT BE POSTING HERE AS MUCH WE'LL SEE,MY WORKOUTS WILL BE MOSTLY FROM HOME CAUSE I REALLY CAN'T LEAVE THE HOUSE ONCE I GET HOME FROM 10 HR WORK DAY AND I EAT LUNCH AT MY DESK SO ITS 10 HOURS SOLID AT MY DESK..THIS IS WHY THEY CALL IT'SICKNESS AND IN HEALTH'SHE'S ONLY 38 YRS OLD..

This is rough. Your wife is lucky she has you to help her and to take care of the kids while she cannot. Too bad the family isn't on the same page with you. Can you take family medical leave from your job? If you are unaware of this, here is a link to some more information about it: http://employment.findlaw.com/family-medical-leave/family-and-medical-leave-act.html?DCMP=GOO-EMP_FMLA-States&HBX_PK=family+medical+leave+act+new+york.

I cannot imagine the stress this must be putting on both you and your wife. If the family is going to be more of a pain than a help, it might be better to hire some help. Sometimes medical insurance will help cover the cost.

Both my wife and I have sciatica caused by spinal arthritis or spinal degeneration. Margie is seeing a spine doctor later this week to discuss her options. I have been dealing with my sciatica for a couple of years. Once physical therapy is done for my knee, I will also look into what I can do to relieve the sciatica. Mine is cause by arthritis while my wife has at least 4 discs while have no cushion left at all. She is not healthy enough for surgery so she will be limited to steroid injections. This might be the way I'd prefer to go too....at least at first. Of course, both my wife and I have this condition because we are old and because some of our parts are wearing out.  :(

Hang in there Steve. You're a strong man....and I'm not talking about your muscles. Your wife is very blessed to have you to help her get through this. If you can, ignore the meddling family folks and don't let them get to you. Arguing just adds to both you and your wife's stress levels and that won't help her heal. Stress is not good.

As Prime stated, calmer heads prevail...... Your in-laws'
"should" respect your home is your castle, but as you realize, many may not. Don't let this get in the way of your wife's recovery.
Hang in there, help her recover, and hit the weights for a sanity check.

you know when i first met my wife, my Mother in law started saying bad things about me. It started very early on and i can only say Steve you are not alone. Remember when i was 21 and future wife(were not married then but i was living in camp and at my future inlaws) was high pregnant and my now brother in law got out of order to my wife. I told him to calm down then i was going to Punch him because he really got loud. I said get outside and he run away behind his parents. they never forgot this. i showed him up to be a Coward. I think all you can do is be firm with your inlaws. Your wife will of course be cought inbetween but believe me she loves you and will find a COMPRIMISE between you and her parents.

My mother was a total pain in the ass and my wife's father was no better. One of the main reasons my wife and I moved to Oregon from California was to get away from our parents. The joke ended up being on us when after my step-dad died, because my ailing mother moved to Oregon to live with us the last three years of her life. It was a weird experience for all. Try though she did, we would not allow her to take over our house and family. It was also a strange upside down thing to be taking care of my mother instead of her me.

I'd left home on my 18th birthday to get away from her dominating personality and the constant ridicule. When she came to live with us, we were looking after her. Emphysema robs the brain of oxygen. She was no longer the tyrant she'd once been. There were days when she was totally out of her mind.....like off in some other place. I actually liked her better as a senile old lady. It was still weird though.

for what?past glory..still lift cause I enjoy it,and keeping myself in great shape at 45 is more rewarding in the end, that was the early years when nothing was going on but gym, dieting, and thinking about the gym all day long,,more gratifying the way I have maintained my build with long work days,3 kids and usual craziness in life...

Blue stars are for folks who are or have been competitive bodybuilders. This is why you deserve blue stars Steve. For a lifetime of being fit, you earn gold stars which are worth much more in my book.
