Rep range is important too in calf training. I start off full range and also do partial reps in between too. Not "Burns" at the end but mix it up. Full stretch and short movements. I have found this beneficial in my training. 2-3 full reps then some short fast reps. Fatigue is quicker.

Worked back and abs yesterday. I hope to get in arms today. It's going to be a challenge because I have a lot of commitments today, but I need to make hitting the gym a priority for my health both physical and mental.

I continue to be amazed at the results of working out with really lite weights, going slow and using what I hope is excellent form. My legs are mildly sore from Sunday and my back muscles have that good slightly sore feeling which makes one more aware of their muscles. It makes me feel more alive.

My wife saw the nephrologist (kidney doctor) yesterday. Nothing drastic. Kidney function is as expected. She tweaked some of her meds to see if it will bring down her high calcium levels. My wife reconfirmed with the doctor that she does not want dialysis should it become necessary.

never seen or used a machine like that. sounds great. The Gyms here are good but not so advanced like in the US. In the Big places sure but not where i live.
Its got 2 pedals and your legs are straight out in front. I'll check name brand tomorrow.

Today, I escaped to the gym and worked shoulders and calves. I was in a very pissy mood, which got my adrenaline going bigtime. No way could I rest the prescribed 120 seconds between sets. I was back at it in 30 seconds or less. The gym was unusually crowded. Someone was on the shoulder press machine I like to use so I did front presses on the smith and it felt damn good too.

I also use a machine to do rear delts mainly because my arms are so long that doing them laying on an incline bench is awkward. This fellow with earphones in was on the machine I wanted to use. I asked if I could work in. He said, "I only have two more sets." Then he asked if I would need to change the settings. I said, "I'll wait." I swear those two sets took ten minutes. I wanted to pull him off the seat and stomp on his ugly mug, but clearly I resisted.

If it had not been for mister-slowpoke-hog-the-equipment guy, I would have finished my routine in record time. I need to tan, but that seemed too laidback or laid-down for my mood today.

I am enjoying my second glass of wine right now. This is it for the wine though. Next up, tea.

Feeling under the weather. There is a bad virus going around NJ. Either a terrible cough or out the other end. Only had a work out an a half this week. My son's got hit hard with a terrible fever. I'm just run down with a sore throat so I can't complain. So many people sick every where I go here.

I will train Shoulders and arms tonight. Was back Home late last night because i was the whole Day in Hannover. I normally hit shoulders first but many say that it affects Bicep work later on if training Biceps afterwards. Anyone experience this? suppose Drag curls could help with this problem.

Midrange: Standing BB press
stretch: lying incline dB lateral raise.
Contracted: Face pulls

Ez bar curls
Incline curls
Concentration curls with cable

Seated machine extensions or lying ez bar extensions
overhead extensions
Cable kickbacks.

Will work with 3 sets per exercise.

Didn't get to the gym yesterday or today. I did install two more light fixtures out front and then went on the hunt for new bronze house numbers to replace the 70's style wood ones which no longer fit. I found some Baldwin numbers at a downtown hardware store. They are solid brass with a bronze finish. They have a good heft and are sized large enough to see from the street.

Tomorrow, a fellow from an antique/used furniture store is coming to pick up the furniture stashed in the garage. It will be nice to be able to put the car up again. It has been almost a year since we've had use of the garage. It is hard getting rid of some of these pieces because we've had them for years, but with our kids living here there just isn't a place for them any longer.

Watch out for that flu that's going around. My niece called to tell me my sister went by ambulance to emergency because she couldn't breath. Seems she has an upper respiratory infection. The hospital treated her and released her. I am supposed to take her in for an EEG next Friday. Hope she isn't contagious since she'll be in the car with me for hours. She lives an hour away. I'll be driving back and forth to Salem a lot next Friday.

My wife is doing OK. She slept most of the day one day last week. She literally couldn't stay awake. It was concerning, but she snapped out of the Rip Van Winkle phase the next day. Each day brings something different.

Eight sets of back and eight of chest in my garage today.  Didn't feel great but it also didn't feel like crap.  I'd call it a good workout.  More to come in the morning.

Thanks!

It feels good to do even light weights.  Today I did 6 sets each of shoulders, biceps and triceps.  Reps were between 5 and 35 each set.  Tomorrow, more back and chest.

As I am something of a pussy of a cripple, I can no longer do leg work. Not as bad of as many but enough to permanently disable me and prevent me from doing the single best exercise in the world.  Squats.
