Yes I find it fills them up and makes them very content.  I do spoil my pets.  Glad it's warmer for you though.   :)
yes i will be going out tonight with a friend for a 1 hour fast walk..he is recovering from a knee and calf injury. He runs marathons and does other extreme cardio events. However now he told me that at 58 he is getting more injuries and really has just started to train serious with weights to prevent more happening. now he will train the muscles with a good intensive programme.

you know as i get older myself i think about my training a lot deeper and injuries, does not mean wrap yourself in cotton wool but to know the safer ways to train. Today i have to Double up with Shoulders+Arms due to time constraints this week:

Tri-set
Scott Db shoulder press 4x10 (thanks Monty)
BB front press 4x10
bent over rear delt raises 4x10
Will be a fairly intensive workout and the scott press will make the front press burn like hell.

Barbell curls 3x8-10 superset with
lying ez bar extensions 3x10

parallel bar dips 3xmax superset with
close grip chinning the Bar 3x max

crunches 2-3 sets to failure

he trains in a Gym here and i just gave him a few pointers on his training because he asked me. He told me the trainers at the gym only give a basic overview of exercises on your first visit then you are charged per session.. ???

It sounds like they take you through the gym, an initiation and then you are on your own.  They expect you to pay for personal training sessions afterwards.  There are gyms like that here.  It's how they get members to pay for pt sessions.  Then there are other gyms and their memberships include programmes.

yes  and i said to him, use the Adduction/Abduction machine(s) because these are important too and the Gym owner said, "oh no these are only in the Womans training area" ::) so you canīt use them. sorry but i do not agree this is only for women..he has to use the cable apparatus with an ankle strap..works too but not the same.

The Pacific Northwest is on a warming trend. The good news is that it is warmer here. The bad news is that the rains have returned. I don't know what is better, cold or wet. Wet weather makes me feel colder sometimes then cold weather. I remember the good old days when I rode my bicycle to work in the rain and changed clothes when I got there. Back then,  once I got wet, I just went with it. These days when the only reason to get on my bicycle is for exercise , the decision to ride in the rain becomes harder to make.

I feel like my life is more focused on mental activities lately. I really could give a shit about how fit I look, which is a big change from previous times. Never-the-less, I know that to be mentally fit one must be also physically fit. At 68 years of age, I am thinking I will be around for another ten or fifteen years. I would like to think I have somethings of value to contribute to the world during the remains of my life. Clearly, the healthier I am, the more energy I have to pursue all that interests me.

Long story short, life has once again gotten in the way of me hitting the gym this week. I feel like such a failure. I know i have much to contribute to mature fitness and yet, week after week, I am not doing this. Well, in the words of Scarlet O'Hara in Gone With The Wind, tomorrow is another day.

You are not alone when it comes to steroid use. My doctor prescribed D-bol to help me gain some weight when I was in my late teens and early twenties. Now being a senior citizen, my urologist prescribed testosterone cypionate, which I was taking for a couple of years before I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Although testosterone does not cause prostate cancer, once you have it, it accelerates the cancer's growth, which is why I stopped taking it. Now that I am cancer free, my doctor will prescribe it again if I decide I want him to. My energy levels were better when I was using the testosterone. Injecting test does get old after awhile even though I have no problem with needles. I was injecting once a week at a rate of .75 ml. This is nothing too drastic.
