starting to get sick of the weather here...itīs raining hard again. I will go out though and get my cardio in..
It is dry and warmer here for a rare change. This weather is supposed to last through Super Bowl weekend. I have a couple of hundred bulbs to get in the ground for some spring color. Planting these should keep me busy today. I should have planted them months ago, but I didn't. I am not big on working in the garden when it is raining cats and dogs.
I have an all day meeting tomorrow in Salem, OR. Just as I get one thing wound up another pops up. I guess this is better than not having anything to do.
The cooling fan control module on my car has gone tits up. My mechanic has ordered the part which he will install on Monday. Although this will run about $250, it is less than a car payment would be on a new car. My car is now 9 years old. It has 100K miles which is nothing really these days. I guess it is worth maintaining what I have although some of the new cars are really exciting, have more features and get better gas mileage. I took my wife's car in for an oil change yesterday. Her car is 15 years old. She has barely 60K miles on it and it runs like a top. Clearly she doesn't drive that much. Fortunately, she is happy with what she has. This may be one of the reasons I love her, she is so easy to please.
I can't talk about the gym because I am still avoiding it for some reason.
Someone on Getbig recommended Costco brand Salmon patties, which I bought and they are excellent. Last night I made salmon burgers. We had fresh baked hamburger buns from a local bakery, which we toasted. My wife put together a wonderful aioli sauce while I grilled some zucchini and the salmon patties. We assembled the salmon burgers by spreading a layer of aioli sauce on the buns, added the grilled zucchini, the salmon patties and some sliced tomatoes, topping everything with the other half of the bun. It was a pretty messy sandwich to eat, but it was fabulous.
Aioli sauce is made using 1/2 cup mayonnaise, some lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, chives, salt and pepper. My wife added capers to make it even more tasty. It is good on many things including french fries.
